Worth considering if staying at carlisle. Basic no frills service for the price is definitely well worth

We first stayed in this Premier Inn a year ago but unfortunately twelve months later we feel that it has become very tired and dated. The outside paintwork is peeling badly and the area generally looks unkempt. However, reception staff were pleasant and our Premier Plus room was clean. The traffic noise, even with the windows closed, was a nuisance. The Beefeater restaurant is fairly scruffy. Chairs, carpets, etc are stained. The food was fine and once again, staff were pleasant. Breakfast was spoiled a little for us by the large group of noisy workmen whose language at times was unacceptable. Staff explained that they are aware of this problem and are dealing with it as best they can. The best part of our experience here was the fact that staff were welcoming and helpful. However, we won't be staying again.

Avoid room 101 the only window in the room is high up about 3ft long 6in high and was dirty no escape in case of fire evening meal ok but long wait after ordering we didn’t stop for breakfast as early morning start we have stayed in many Premier Inns but won’t be staying at this one again

Me and my wife booked a stay for 2 nights. Upon arriving, I was told their online system is down with no way of accessing digital records and searching booking references, the receptionist at the desk could not find our booking in the physical records and told us there is nothing she can do and that we have to wait until she can check their system but has no ETA as to when this will be possible. We were therefore denied access to the accomodation we prepaid for and the receptionist tried to send us to a nearby pub to wait there, it was nearly 7pm and we had a 6hr car drive to the location prior to arrival. After showing the receptionist our booking reminder and the payment receipt, both of which had the booking reference and my full name, she insitsted she cannot check us in and there's nothing she can do. At this point communication became difficult as we started getting interrupted by her upon trying to continue to figure out the issue as she adamantly did not want to offer further assistance and tried to dismiss us from the lobby. As a final try, I had to ask her to check the physical bookings under my surname. To her surprise the booking was indeed there. Absolutely no apology for her causing us stress, delaying our check in and showing the least effort possible to even find our booking. In fact at the end of this situation she decided to give us a lecture about my wife's attitude which she "did not appreciate". Absolute joke of customer service - unfortunately I did not take the name of the receptionst we were dealing with but this happened on Monday 26th Aug around 6.30-7pm and it was a blonde fair aged lady we had the displeasure of speaking with. First time someone treated us like this in any accomodation.

Bought the meal deal on the basis that the beefeater was open until 11pm. We arrived at 9.03pm to be told the kitchen would be closed. This should have been advised before we bought the deal. Receptionist advised that this happens all the time. travelled for ages then no dinner. Puts me ifc booking premier in. agajn.

Great location, just off M6. Plenty of parking. Near main road, but we didn’t notice any traffic noise. Friendly efficient staff and room was well laid out with plenty of plug sockets and bedside tables. Bathroom was perfunctory – shower over bath with curtain. Breakfast was at the Beefeater next door and we paid the extra £19.00 for two “all you can eat” breakfast. Good choice of fresh hot and cold items. Good coffee machine with lots of options. Our only gripe was the cleaner vacuuming up the previous night’s detritus whilst we ate. Good value at £114 for a double en suite. Will use again as a stop off en route to Scotland

As I had read previous reviews I opted to stay in a Premier Plus room. The room was immaculate, very well appointed, exceptionally clean, spacious & cool as a staff member had put the air con on before I arrived. I was most grateful for this as it was a humid sort of day! The reception staff were chatty & welcoming. They reserved me a table in the adjacent Beefeater pub, The Border. A glass of wine & dinner we’re thoroughly enjoyed after a long journey. The bed & pillows were very comfortable too so I slept well. All in all a great one night stay. I would highly recommend the Premier Plus room if it’s in your budget.

Stayed overnight to break the journey on the way to Scotland. Very friendly and helpful staff , gave us a great welcome and made sure everything was ok for us . I was the first long trip for my 6/12 granddaughter and the family room was excellent with everything we needed for a good nights rest .

Horrible! No air con in the room. 16C outside but 26C in the room. Avoid rooms on 1st floor or you will be baked alive. They just give you small fan to cool it down. Window opens just 2in. The only good thing about stay is the Beefeater restaurant on a doorstep.

Room smelt of smoke so had no sleep as we were choking, it was warm and couldnt open the window which made it bad for anti smoker. Its illegal to smoke in side but head office were not bothered. Restaurant turned oven off also before we had ordered so food we paid for was limited

We went with a large group of people and unfortunately found that we'd not been booked in, (our mistake). The hotel was full and it was a Bank Hol weekend. Karen the Hotel Receptionist went above and beyond. Karen contacted every Premier Inn within the vicinity to see if they'd got places, which they hadn't, all the Inn's were full. Karen then contacted other hotels within Carlisle and eventually found us somewhere to stay. Karen also phoned her Husband at home to come and pick us up and take us to our accommodation in Carlisle, because by this time all the taxis were booked as it was late Friday evening. What an amazing person, Premier Inn you should be proud.

The staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms are clean and tidy. Good sound-proofing so no disturbance from other guests. Great menu and bar facilities from the Beefeater on site. No fuss about special diets or allergies. Good parking facilities
