Linen was dirty. The bathroom was cold. Light bulbs also were not all working in our room. Lack of attention to detail. The entrance to the hotel is cluttered and doesn't look welcoming. During our stay in room 42, the hot water never got hot. We were told the heating element had failed, and we were given a key to room 37 (one floor down) to use the shower, along with other guests affected. The following day we were told we could move to room 37. As we had specifically paid for a sea view room and the one they were wanting us to move to never had a sea view, I would have expected some monetary compensation. We got nothing but an apology, not even the offer of free breakfast. It would have been so easy to do. Upon next visit to Jersey we will have to find other accommodation.

een heerlijke plek om te verblijven, maar niet langer dan een paar dagen. Het personeel is zeer behulpzaam en het hotel is schoon. Maar het kan echt wel een flinke update gebruiken, de badkamer was echt aan vervanging toe, en ook de meubels in de kamer zijn wat aftands. De gordijnen laten veel licht door, daardoor waren we erg vroeg wakker en er was veel lawaai van het tegenover liggende cafe. Het ontbijt is uitstekend. Het inpandige restaurant is redelijke, maar helaas maar zeer beperkte keus voor vegetariers. De eerste avond zelfs helemaal niet... want het was er druk geweest. Een groot nadeel: er is geen parkeerplaats voor de auto, alleen maar betaald een stuk verder op en geen plek om fietsen veilig te stallen.

NEVER stay at the Marina metro hotel in Jersey. The staff are the RUDEST I've ever come across! The bathroom towels stink of wet dog and are covered in what looks like faeces stains. We've had to ask for clean towels 3 times and all 3 times we've returned to our room to find faeces stained damp towels that stink. The restaurant last night shut at 9 and we were hurried out despite the fact we were trying to enjoy our evening meal. The bar shut before 10, we were told we couldn't get any more drinks and we were asked to turn the lights out on our way up to our room. The rooms are TERRIBLE! So dated, dirty, scruffy, smelly and grotty. The bed linen stinks and I wonder if it's even changed between guests. The decor is from the 70's, none of the bedside table lamps work, and the wall paper is torn, stained and disgusting. We were told we couldn't have our breakfast outside despite the fact we only booked this hotel for the fact it was on the beach and there is loads of outside seating, but either way the continental breakfast was crap with hardly any selection. The waiters are all old and can't be bothered to do any work, they try to hurry you away and last night the waiter told us he didn't want anyone else to come and have dinner and so at 8.45 he started clearing away all the table settings in the restaurant and told us not to have starters so that we would leave faster. This hotel isn't cheap so do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Unkomplizierte und großzügige Abwicklung in der Coronazeit (eine im Vorjahr gebuchte Reise konnte ohne Probleme im darauffolgenden Jahr angetreten werden) - Hilfsbereitschaft vor Ort (gerade auch dann, wenn man des Englischen nicht so mächtig ist) - eine Wiederkehr in dies Hotel ist schon geplant

My wife and I spent 1 week here at this hotel. We booked our holiday direct with the hotel, and were informed that we would be given a sea view/coastal view room at a cost of £945 with breakfast included. I queried a room on bookings.com, to the hotel, but was advised by the hotel management Carolyn, that this room was in fact a cheaper room, with road/ town view and not Seaview, but the cost was £851 for room only, with no breakfast. When we arrived at the hotel, we were met by the evening staff, who handed us the key to the room, and we paid in full at reception. When we entered the room, we found it to be dated, with a small bathroom, and the mesh curtain, only barely hanging on the window. Directly in front was the window looking out to an adjacent building, and roadside view, with little coastal view, only to be seen when viewed to the left side of the window. I immediately went to report this at reception and request a change of room, to a Seaview room, but management weren't available, except for the evening staff member who checked us in. The following day, I was met by Geoff, the managing director who commented on the room that we were allocated, but made excuses that we weren't promised a full coastal view room by his wife Carolyn, at the time of booking, and that his wife wasnt aware of any vacant Seaview rooms available to us at the time of booking. So we were left with this room for the entire week. Yet, the rooms to the rear of the hotel were larger rooms, and had full unobstructed coastal view. On the day we were checking out, we were met by one of the daily staff who asked if we enjoyed our stay, I replied with the room number, and that the room wasn't satisfactory to what we paid full price for, and she replied saying " next time you book with us, request a sea/coastal view room" when I replied saying that, this is what we paid for, she apologised and left. Geoff, the hotel managing director was present at this stage, and never offered any kind of apology. We feel we were ripped off for what we were handed, and paid full price for. When we arrived home, I sent an email of complaint to the hotel management, only to be replied to with what they had already told us when I first complained, and a short apology. We did look at another Seaview hotel not far from this hotel, with unobstructed rooms for the same dates for less than what we paid. The daily staff, were very friendly and helpful, but with this false advertising, i wouldn't be recommending staying at this hotel any time in the future.

Great hotel, perfect location, overlooking the bay, right on the promenade. Was lucky enough to get an upgrade to a sea view room, would definitely recommend this. Breakfast really good and staff very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the shower, the head kept falling down. And take a phone plug as there are no USB charging points. Large fridge in the room. Set your alarm to wake up to see the stars over the bay, absolutely breathtaking. Little bit of a walk into the main town, but you can get the bus outside the door. We liked the fact there was less hustle and bustle in our bars.

Great character hotel right in front with great sea views and friendly staff , live entertainment at weekend and superb breakfast. 15 minute walk to Liberation Square and bus stop to Gorey. Other restaurants and bars nearby and lido , beach and Fort Regent

10 of us for Sunday lunch. Booked in advance thinking it would be busy. We were only ones there. Overpriced at £32 for 2 courses. Had to get food reheated as it was cold when arrived table. Gravy served in a little ramekin with not enough to cover your roasties. Sorry, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend it. There are other great places in Jersey to get a roast.

On arrival sat 24th May was told by the barman the hotel bar & restaurant was closed to Hotel Guests as privat function on,Which is fair enough it would have been nice for he hotel to notify me on booking,we were assured the party and music would stop at 12am the noise stopped at 2.30am.Breakdast Sunday was plentiful good quality £30 for 2.Didnt spend anytime in hotel the rest of Sunday went out for the whole day when we got back bar was closed as it closes at 6pm on Sundays.No lights in toilet on arrival did report was rectified straight away,lovely position for Hotel St Helier short bus ride away,will not be revisiting.Never met the owners during stay.The little bit of service we had at breakfast was efficient and friendly.

I really want to see good things but I'm struggling. Walked into the room and gave massive sigh 😕. So uninspiring, old furniture, net curtains, kettle seen better days, should be in a skip, poor tv signal, constantly buffering. And bathroom! Oh dear. But on the positive side, staff were friendly, lovely breakfast and good location.

Overall it was great experience bu the sea… The best part was the dockyard restaurant 😍. I will make a return with family very soon they would love to go there My younger son loves ocean so it will be great to celebrate his 6th birthday there…..

I've been visiting jersey for around 28 years now and have never been to this part of the island before I got a fantastic deal with this hotel I enjoyed every minute of my stay the weather was great so it was lovely sitting outside the back of the restaurant overlooking the sea and people watching and enjoying the prosecco and company of the lovely guests and wonderful staff the room was very clean and fantastic shower and comfortable bed the rooms are basic but I knew that prior to arrival and it was brilliant value for money I thoroughly enjoyed being here and can't wait to return to this hotel again Geoff and the staff are adorable and very hospitable thank you for a beautiful stay

Stayed here for 3 nights - I was hoping for an upgrade as booked a single room but alas I stayed in the room I booked. Single room with single bed. Size of room was okay for 1 person. Sea view. En-suite. Yes, the hotel is a little shabby and could do with brightening up, however, the staff were very accommodating and helpful. Evening entertainment Fri/Sat. The food was good, large portions. If you chose to dine out, ensure you book as gets very busy.
