This was a mistake. Wont return. No service whatsoever on Christmas day. Not even a bottle of water was offered and they fully well knew that a guest was arriving as they left the door open with keys Inside. Nothing was open in the area nor was the cafe open. It was christmas day, what a way to share a happy cheerful welcome. The bathroom had nothing in it but toilet paper and liquid hand soap. The shower glass wall had a massive crack and someone thought it was smart to use paint and draw over the crack in a shameful attempt to hide this.

DIRTY. Ants investation in the bathroom. Dusty very dusty. No sitting furniture in rooms. Just a simple wooden chair to seat a child. The bed and pillows should be in the trash. The floors should be outside the veranda and the veranda floor should be inside. The AC unit is in a closet. Took forever to cool down the room. The bathroom is terrible with the towel probably 10 years old. It stinks and needed proper cleaning. No bathroom door. They used a closet door sliding on a small rod. It was a struggle to open or close it. The door to the room and especially the bl8 ds or was it a curtain? Should be in the dump. The entire row of rooms are this way. They advertise a cafe. Fake none. There arw no attendants. Rhey come and go. You are by yourself with a number to call the boss if needed. Absolutely off the grid. No amenities near by. False advertising. Nothing on thier site except the building is true. These things are off site by taxi. Country living. No ambience, plain, stinky, and dirty. We boomed based on the pictures. Not part of the inn at all. These are outside amenities. This is wrong. It looked good when it was new but needs a complete gut job to upgrade the place into 2023 standards. It should be maybe $50 a night if you are stranded or don't care about nothing. Only thing it has is a good view. Road bad. No easy access to anything. No breakfast. You will starve out here. Again false advertising don't use. These people are wicked to sell this to people. Trip advisor you all need to vet these places better before you advertise for them. This was the worst place i have stayed in a very long time. Upon checking in the kitchen staff had to open the room which i found ants on the bed and bathroom counter. The owner was non helpful and blamed it on things i had brought with me. The food is over-priced with quality being extremely bad. The place is located so far out if you dont have a car, a taxi will take $50 usd to get you anywhere. I do not suggest this place at all. Bring cash as nowhere on Antigua can you run a card.

Coût des repas plutôt élevés. Déjeuner continental "inclus" mais en 7 nuitées, je lai eu 3 fois. 2 matins il y avait rien et les 2 autres On m'a fait part que le dejeuner d'aujourd'hui était des oeufs/ bacon ou "french toasts "... Pour ensuite me les faire payer lors du check out.. C'est un peu insultant entre choisir de ne pas manger ou payer ce qui devait être inclus... Confort de la chambre correct Par contre, il pourrait y avoir une 2e couverture plutôt que juste un drap, ça serait un gros plus! :-) Ménage de la chambre minimum, sans que ce soit un ménage complet quotidien, il serait bien de passer aux 2 ou 3 jours pour vider les poubelles et changer les serviettes. (suggestion) plutôt que de passer après 5 jours. sinon, emplacement loin de tout mais tranquille et agréable, Wifi performant, espaces de stationnement suffisant lors de mon passage, cuisinier sympatique. Chambre suffisamment grande et quand même en bon état pour une période post-pandémique où l'absence de touriste à dû affecté durant plus de 2 ans.

Stayed here for a week alone as a single mid twenties female traveller. I have family in Antigua but wanted my own base and privacy and this place was perfect. I was late arriving but Sharon was still there waiting when I arrived. The room had everything I needed - comfy bed, good air con and a good warm shower. Sharon was incredibly friendly and I felt almost at home whilst I was there! Mr David was always on hand in case you needed a lift for a small fee. If you let him know what time you want to come home, he'll pick you up too which is great as Taxi's on the island can be expensive for tourists. One day in the morning I'd been looking at the dinner menu but hadn't decided on anything. Last orders for food are at 4pm and Mr David picked me up from the beach at 4 and asked if I'd arranged dinner as I hadn't ordered anything. I said I hadn't but would sort something. About half an hour after arriving back there was a knock at my door and it was Mr David with a container of hot goat stew! It was so tasty and such a lovely gesture. I also hired the inn's jeep for a day for $50 - super convenient. Loved my stay and would most certainly return! It is a fantastic spot if you really want to experience the real Island way of life. Blissful.

Antigua: Rent a Car & Ellen Bay Inn Just on the plane heading home from the charter yacht show in Antigua. Wanted to stay somewhere cheaper than the $2,000 packages for rooms near English Harbour area...so found that the combo flight/hotel package had the Ellen Bay Inn & the Ellen Bay Cottages as an inexpensive option for me. I chose Ellen Bay INN... On the plane, fill in BOTH sides of the customs form! but let me start at the car rental: I had initially emailed and had a confirmation that "Island Breeze" would be at the airport with a car...but no one from there was or is setup at airport, I discovered. I ended up, for the same price, $45 US/day, renting a Toyota Corolla from St. John's. They have Hertz & a few other big names but I chose a smaller company...and no one had attitude or anything! The Antiguan people are super nice, I really enjoyed that aspect of it. But I digress....the car I got...as I was signing the visa slip they hold, he handed me a map and said "oh and you drive on the left side of the road, you know"....eeek! I even researched car rental and it never really came up that they were right hand drive!! I had debated about getting a car...but when I thought of the inn location versus the docks..and I like to go where and when I want....a car was the super smart way to go, I applauded myself...however....driving on the left hand side from the passenger side of the car....hah hah...that was an event in itself...and people just pull over everywhere and you have to go around them, and someone may pass you....and the roads are just two cars wide with potholes and drop offs onto more potholed shoulders! And when you turn into a parking lot....stay to the left!! The funniest thing was when I got to the Inn, I was trying to be sure I had locked the car, I am on the left side, Canadian driver's side....looking for the key hole...as the remote did not see to work....so I am starting to get nervous thinking: well if the remote doesn't work..and the car is locked...and there is no key hole, how do I get in?! So, yes, I laughed out loud when I realized....driver's door is on the other side!! quite funny when you are also told to drive up onto the grass and it had just rained and it was so slippery I could barely get up the incline...and the car almost bottoms out as the incline meets the huge asphalt chunk at the side of the road... Ok, so I get in the car..with the map from the car rental place, which was great, by the way, no kidding! The girl there told me how many lights and roundabouts to the inn general area...and I had GREAT directions from Monique Abbott: Ok, just to be clear: Ellen Bay Inn and Ellen Bay Cottages were both built by the Abbotts, the parents, whose names I apologize I did not get. The parents stay mostly at the Inn, which is higher up and has six rooms, and the kitchen & Miriam the awesome cook. Sharon is the daughter of the Inn & Cottage owners. She runs the Inn, and came running out to greet me
