In the heart of Chianti Classico country, mere minutes from RA3 and only 45 minutes from Florence, you will find Fattoria La Loggia. We just spent two nights with friends in a beautiful, newly renovated, 2-bedroom king suite and had the pleasure of getting to know the new keepers of this extraordinary family-owned treasure, sisters, Ludovica and Federica. Both trained in 5-Star hotels in Europe, they took over running the property in January 2026 and are bringing to their family’s estate their knowledge of elevated service and amenities, in addition to a level of true hospitality that one dreams about when imagining a stay in Tuscany,. Renovations on the rooms are almost complete or refreshed to the sisters’ standards and are beautifully appointed, while retaining their authentic identity. The beds are extremely comfortable and the linens are soft and luxurious. Each room has its own thermostat and heating/ac unit to ensure guest comfort. In addition to the two bedrooms, our suite had a beautiful bathroom with rain and hand-held shower heads, and a lovely living/dining room. Ludovica has a passion for the history of her family home and gave us a detailed tour of the property while we sipped glasses of wine produced from grapes grown in their vineyard. She had a story for each building and piece art. Acquired in 1979 by her grandparents, Giulio and Cuca, the 13th century stronghold turned villa estate was painstakingly restored over the course of the 20 years with materials largely sourced from the property itself, giving the buildings an unmistakable authenticity. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and fascinating works of art can be found throughout. Giulio’s love for art led him to offer room and board to artists in the 1980s and 90s and, in exchange, many left behind their work. As we strolled the grounds, I asked my husband how he felt about renewing our vows, so we could get (re) married in this perfect place. After our tour, we decided to eat dinner on-site and we couldn’t have been happier with our decision. The property doesn’t have a restaurant yet, but they do offer snacks and “light” bites. Wherever possible, all ingredients are sourced locally and organic and it shows. We ordered the pork tonnato, a cheese fondue-like dish, and the assorted Tuscan specialties and Federica assembled our feast. We dined on their lovely patio with jazz playing softly in the background, and each taste was more delicious than the last. All the while, Ludovica was nearby ensuring everything was perfect and, when asked, sharing additional stories about her experiences and family and their history. When she learned that we had omitted a special experience from our itinerary, she moved heaven and earth to get us a last minute reservation for the next morning. Our visit was magical and our only regret is that we didn’t book a longer stay. While we rarely visit the same place twice, Fattoria La Loggia will be the exception. Given the exciting vision

Passati tre giorni tra impegni lavorativi e famiglia che mi ha accompagnato. La nuova gestione di Federica e Ludovica, giovani proprietarie con un vero talento per l’accoglienza, è impostata su servizi di grande qualità e per una notevole attenzione per i dettagli. La parte ristorazione è caratterizzata da scelte di materie prime attento e esclusivamente locale. Ottimi i vini e l’olio prodotti in proprio. Infine menzione particolare per l’attenzione all’aspetto culturale. L’Intera proprietà è disseminata di opere d’arte della collezione privata. Periodicamente ospitano eventi culturali che, in questo luogo suggestivo, sono davvero emozionanti. Anche le stanze degli alloggi sono disseminate di oggetti artistici e opere frutto spesso dei soggiorni di artisti alla fattoria. Spazi meravigliosi e accoglienza perfetta. Un soggiorno qui rappresenta un’esperienza difficile da dimenticare!

Fattoria La Loggia is een accommodatie waar we gemengde gevoelens aan overhouden. Dat maakt deze recensie lastig om te schrijven, omdat de mensen ontzettend vriendelijk zijn en de locatie enorm veel charme en potentie heeft. Wat direct opvalt, is de prachtige ligging met een schitterend uitzicht over het Toscaanse landschap. Het terrein voelt als een klein, sfeervol Italiaans dorpje en is mooi onderhouden. Overal vind je gezellige hoekjes, kunst en authentieke details die bijdragen aan de Toscaanse sfeer. Ook het zwembad is een fijne plek en het overdekt parkeren is een groot pluspunt. Het ontbijt is niet heel uitgebreid, maar wel vers en smakelijk, met een prachtig uitzicht tijdens het eten. Daarnaast is alles schoon en het personeel is zonder uitzondering vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gastvrij. Onze grootste teleurstelling was de kamer. Vooral de badkamer viel tegen. Deze was erg klein en de douche bevond zich in het bad, wat wij persoonlijk niet prettig vinden. Omdat er vooraf geen foto’s van de badkamer beschikbaar waren, kwam dit als een onaangename verrassing. Daarnaast hadden wij ontzettend veel last van muggen in de kamer. Ondanks dat we er veel hebben gevangen, bleven er nieuwe bijkomen en moesten we uiteindelijk met muggenspray gaan slapen. Dat hebben wij nog niet eerder meegemaakt en vonden wij erg vervelend. Ook de inrichting van de kamer vonden wij niet overal even geslaagd. Veel authentieke elementen, zoals het oude Toscaanse keukentje, passen perfect bij de sfeer van het complex en geven veel karakter. Daar tegenover stonden enkele opvallende, kleurrijke en naar onze smaak wat gedateerde kunstwerken die niet goed aansloten bij de traditionele Toscaanse uitstraling van de accommodatie. Dat is natuurlijk persoonlijk, maar voor ons deed het iets af aan de authentieke sfeer die verder juist zo mooi aanwezig is. Het zwembad is een fijne plek om te ontspannen en heeft een prachtig uitzicht over de omgeving. Wel vonden wij dat het zwembad op enkele punten wat gedateerd oogde. Zo zaten er op verschillende plekken beschadigingen of gaten in de ondergrond en was het polyester wat vergeeld. Op de foto’s en video’s leek dit witter en nieuwer dan in werkelijkheid. Dat is jammer, want juist door de mooie ligging en het uitzicht heeft het zwembad enorm veel potentie om een echte blikvanger van de accommodatie te zijn. Al met al hebben wij genoten van de prachtige omgeving, het uitzicht, de gastvrijheid en de sfeer van het terrein. Tegelijkertijd zorgden de kamer, de badkamer en de muggen ervoor dat ons verblijf niet helemaal aan de verwachtingen voldeed.

There are places you visit. And there are places that, long after you’ve come home, keep visiting you. Fattoria La Loggia is one of those places. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some of the most spectacular destinations in the world — some impress you with their energy, others with their history, others with the natural world around them. But very few manage something much harder: making you feel exactly where you wanted to be. I spent weeks looking for the perfect place for our first summer holiday with our eleven-month-old daughter and our dog, Dalí. I went through dozens of hotels, agriturismos and villas all across Tuscany, searching for the Tuscany we all imagine before we go. We found it. Pretty places are everywhere. What’s hard is finding a place with soul. Our house felt like it had been waiting centuries for us — stone, wood, a fireplace, a bed so comfortable it was hard to get out of in the morning, and air conditioning in the bedroom and upstairs without taking away one bit of the charm. It didn’t feel built for tourists. It felt like a real Tuscan home. The cleanliness was impeccable, day after day, down to the smallest detail — the house, the gardens, the pool, even the parking. Breakfast had views over the vineyards that made you linger over your coffee without noticing. And then came the pool, surrounded by olive trees and sculptures, the kind of place where you plan to stay ten minutes and lose all track of time. But what we fell for most was the silence. Today we live surrounded by noise without even realizing it. There, by day, all you heard were birds — we were lucky enough to see deer, even a fox. By night came a silence we had almost forgotten existed. Just the woods. A deer somewhere in the distance. Nothing else. They recommended restaurants we would never have found on our own — places where the problem was never going hungry, but watching your plate empty too soon. And the barbecue with views over the vineyards, under a sunset that seemed in no hurry to leave, was one of those nights that need no fireworks to be unforgettable. We traveled with a baby and a dog, and never once did they feel like an inconvenience. Quite the opposite — our daughter had a wonderfully comfortable crib and everyone made a fuss over her, and Dalí was welcomed like one more member of the family. After so much travel, you learn that real luxury has nothing to do with marble or stars. Sometimes luxury is waking up to vineyards, sleeping in absolute silence, eating like never before, feeling truly welcomed, watching your daughter smile — and realizing hours have passed without once checking the time. If someone asked me what Tuscany is, I wouldn’t show them a photograph. I’d tell them to spend a few days at Fattoria La Loggia. Thank you, Ludovica. A small hotel located in a charming, exceptionally beautiful area surrounding by vineyards. The hotel is run by two sisters, one of them a charming young woman, that welcomed us with genuine warmth and kindness., however the Hotel hospitality policy probably is different. During our stay, a small shadow of a stain appeared on the bed rest as a result of proper and normal use of bed, this led to an unpleasant and humiliating situation during the check out processes in which I was required to pay compensation amounting to several hundred euros. (which I refused to pay). I have never encountered such a demand in any hotel arrowed the world. The way this matter was handled left a bitter taste and significantly diminished my overall impression of the hotel. As a result, my rating of the stay is much lower than it otherwise would have been, and unfortunately, I will not be returning as a guest in the future.
