Hotel under renovation, when it is not fully ready shouldn’t open to public, dirty and dusty, when open the door the smell of the fresh paint is very hard to live with, no hair dryer in room and you will have to get it from reception, parking costs $10 which is fine, the breakfast is not up to standard

Nice property, but funky parking lot (odd exit to get back to the street). Lots of parking, but still $10 fee… Curtains do not close, fixed “open” with only shears. I was on the first floor and parking lot lights shown through as well as being able to easily see into my room from the parking lot…. To tired to request a change…

This hotel looks really nice from the outside but inside it is a little dirty with stains all over the carpet, torn couches and rooms that are just minimally cleaned and kept. We had to buy our own soap because all the hotel provided was body soap stuck to the shower wall and dish soap by the sink. Breakfast was undercooked food and minimal choices went out every morning to avoid getting sick from under prepared food. At arrival I was given key cards that didn’t work and when I explained it to the front desk she told me I was wrong and had to come up and check for herself before agreeing the key didn’t work. Took close to 20 minutes to just get into the room. The hallways were extremely hot and sticky. This would be a last choice hotel for me. Better to stay a little further out and get what you pay for. Not worth the money here.

Before booking, we did not notice pet friendly. Main floor looked lovely but we had to watch where we stepped on our floor for fear of the dog poo on the carpet. Also smelled awful. We played dodge the poop the whole time.

Unfortunately the Sonesta brand has now removed most of the Staybridge Suites brand, including eliminating fresh cut fruit and the waffle maker at the breakfast buffet. If we were to stay here again I would likely bring my own microwave breakfast croissants, or more likely, find another place that won't cost me more than $400/night for two people to stay and eat breakfast.

Excellent breakfast. Nice updated lobby area and comfortable/spacious room. Seemed well soundproofed. Area in back is good for relaxing and pool is nice, though small. Decent gym and free laundry! Commercial area- lots of eating choices, a nearby grocery store. next to car wash so if that would bother you, FYI. Suitable for exploring San Diego vicinity.
