Premise: San Francisco as a city has become a terrible health and safety risk for everyone, both residents and visitors. We all know that. Fortunately, based on my visits to San Francisco at Thanksgiving 2022 and in June 2023, at least the Union Square-Financial District-Market Street between Powell Street and the Embarcadero have become much cleaner and marginally safer. The situation is still far from ideal though. Many downtown boutiques, restaurants, and now even Nordstrom's Department Store have closed for good or are about to close, including the multiplex cinema in the Westfield Center, which is itself in crisis. HOWEVER, the Galleria Park Hotel remains a safe, quiet, comfortable, and beautifully decorated and maintained home away from home. I strongly recommend using their on-site valet parking service, cost what it costs, just leaving your car their for the duration of your stay in The City and then just walking and using UBER to get around. The rooms are so well organized, furnished, and sound insulated that you would think you were staying in a 5-star establishment. All the staff are on the same 5-star hotel level too: everyone working at the Galleria Park is super-professional, kind, courteous, efficient, helpful, informative, and responsive. I slept like a baby and felt like a king there. The location of the Hotel could not be more convenient to reach by car or Uber, whether you are arriving via the Bay Bridge, the airport, or the Golden Gate Bridge. Fantastic!
