We visited Belize in April of 2022. We cannot say enough great things about Hotel del Rio. It is exactly what we wanted. When we woke up the first morning, we couldn't believe the view from the room as we opened the door. It was a perfect location for walking to everything we needed and of course had golf cart parking. The proprietor was so helpful in getting us a golf cart and sharing so many things to do in town. After several days, we truly didn't want to leave. We then traveled to San Ignacio for a few days and had planned on going to Placencia, but had an issue. We flew back to San Pedro to spend our last few days and I thought I had booked a last minute reservation at Hotel del Rio but I never clicked confirm. The proprietor went out of our way to make sure she found us a room. This place actually made our entire vacation! Can't wait to come back!

Convenient if you want a budget trip to San Pedro. Very clean awesome staff make you feel like your family. The hotel is right on the beach, within walking distance of many of their local spots. Walking distance from downtown to many of the famous restaurants.

We stayed in the Casa Blanca. The room was small but clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was not comfortable and there was no place to sit in the room except the bed. Not ideal. One of the reasons we chose this spot was the complimentary light breakfast daily, as listed on their VRBO listing. This is no longer available. There is a small coffee shop on premise that was very good and the ladies who operate it were very pleasant. There are two small dogs that live there, I’m assuming the owner’s, that are pretty much free range, which I don’t normally mind but there doesn’t seem to be much vigilance with cleaning up the grounds behind these dogs. It was very difficult to navigate the droppings when returning after dark. It was overall a nice place with good location but I wouldn’t visit again.

Such a great place to stay! Staff was welcoming and friendly. Great folks to talk to. I loved how close it was to the water. Best of all was the fact that even though it was only a very short distance away, it was so much less congested than "downtown." Added bonus--bakery, Roadrunner and Arabella's right around the corner.

I felt at home here. Oceanside, so close to the city center. Very clean inside. The staff was super nice and I appreciated having security on the property. I’ll choose this place again next time I’m back!

We loved this place! The location is convenient to resturants and on the beach. The room was confortable and the staff excellent! I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a beautiful view with lots of options for walking the local scene.

Love the location of this hotel. Away from the noise and hustle and bustle of down town. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. There was a really nice coffee shop in the grounds. Great coffee. The staff were amazing. So knowledgeable

Review of Hotel del Rio, Belize I recently stayed at Hotel del Rio in Belize, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The location is perfect—right on the beach, offering breathtaking views, and close to numerous fantastic restaurants like Cool Beans, Palapa Bar, and Nutty Crab. Christine, the manager, was an incredible host. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a seamless stay. From helping us set up golf carts and arranging tours to providing excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities, she truly knows everything about the area. You could reach out to her at any time, and she’d respond promptly and helpfully. The hotel itself is charming, with a rustic vibe that fits perfectly with the beachside ambiance. Everything was spotless, from the bedsheets to the towels, and the attention to cleanliness was evident. The entire staff, including the security guard, was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The area around the hotel is safe and convenient, with plenty of dining options and easy access to the main attractions. Being right on Boca del Rio was such a bonus—it made exploring the town a breeze. If you’re looking for a clean, friendly, and perfectly located place to stay in Belize, I highly recommend Hotel del Rio. I can’t wait to return!

Such a great place to stay, I cannot stress enough how wonderful folks were! From the check in to the check out, it was a wonderful experience, and the amenities are all there. AC, warm water, nice and cozy room, hammock by my door and the beach only steps away. It felt inviting and welcoming and my only regret is that I have to return back to the U.S.

Our second visit to Hotel Del Rio in San Pedro, Belize. Reasonably priced beachfront accommodations with the authentic Cabana feel. Pleasantly surprised by the addition of air conditioning to most of the Cabanas since our last visit (2012). The staff are friendly and helpful. We'll come back again!
