Very new and modern hotel with fast wifi. On-site restaurant is very convenient for a quick bite. 2 bus lines with frequent services that stop at the front of the hotel take you to the heart of San Sebastian. Free parking (horrible parking condition in San Sebastian) on premises and reasonable pricing make this hotel a very good choice for stay near San Sebastian. Note that most rooms have glass shower stall in the middle of the room and it may not be very private for certain travelers. Otherwise, the room is spacious, clean and has good air-con. Note also there is no safety deposit box and no fridge in the room although storage space is quite reasonable. Friendly and helpful staff.

San Sebastián is a great place and Zenit Convento hotel is conveniently located, minutes away from the beach and old town. The facilities in the room are good and the decor neutral and modern. The room we were given (1st floor) looked out onto residential apartment blocks. When we checked in, we were not informed that noisy building work to these properties would be going on during our stay. (I attach views from our room) We did mention this to reception and they apologised. Had I known about either of these I would have requested a room facing away from this awful outlook. We chose Zenit Convento because it had the benefit of a rooftop pool. The pool was closed for the whole week of our stay. The notice stated they were carrying out tests. This too was discussed with reception and they said they were sorry but in fact it didn’t open until the end of June. I cannot find anywhere on their website where this is mentioned and we found this to be misleading and frustrating. Breakfast was a chaotic experience from the very first morning. The table we were given on our first day was missing cutlery and butter. Staff were often not around or too busy to respond to requests or rectify mistakes. I ordered an omelette but was given scrambled egg. I asked for this to be changed. They took it away and then came back with the same plate and told me this was an omelette. Trying to explain that it wasn’t to someone who spoke limited English was difficult. Subsequent days were similar, long waits to get table service, items missing from the table. It was only on day 3 that we realised that a menu in English was available. No one had bothered to offer this to us. As a consequence, despite already having paid to have breakfast included, we decided on our last 2 days to have breakfast in the Taberna Blas opposite the hotel. The evening opening times for the bar are not clear. Sometimes it would still be open beyond 11pm sometimes it would not. We came back to the hotel at 11pm one evening and there were people sitting in the bar with drinks but no staff behind the bar. There were 2 members of staff on reception. We asked them if we could order 2 coffees. They said sorry the bar is closed and the staff have gone home. What are the opening and closing times and why can’t they be consistent and displayed. When we checked in we had 2 bottles of water in our room. We assumed therefore that water was provided free of charge throughout our stay as it is in the gym. When we checked out I was surprised to find water had been charged to our bill. I raised this and was told that only the first 2 bottles are free. This again is misleading and inconsistent. We travel extensively in Europe and rarely are we charged for still water in our room. With a room rate of €400 per night it should be included as part of the room package. I did raise many of these issues with restaurant / reception during my stay. The response was generally that they were sorry but that was it. The ma
Spent two nights here at the end of May. We arrived into San Sebastián on the bus from Bilbao Airport and after a 30-minute walk arrived at the hotel. We got to the hotel around midday and were thinking of leaving our bags at reception until the room became available, but after 15 minutes we were able to check in and get our cardkey. The room was very contemporary with a comfortable bed and good storage facilities, a fridge and a safe. As is common in Spain there were no tea of coffee making facilities, but complimentary water was provided. The room had a balcony that looked out over the main road outside, but the room had good soundproofing and we were not disturbed. The bathroom was clean and modern, though was incorporated within the bedroom rather than being a separate room. This meant there was little soundproofing and the frosted glass did not leave much to the imagination! The hotel is about 30 minutes away from the main tourist attractions of San Sebastián, and is in a more residential part of the city. There are some great bars and pintxos restaurants close to the hotel, and in one particular we would recommend is Oliyos. There is no restaurant on site but they do have a coffee bar, though we went out for breakfast both days to a bakery across the road. Ondarreta beach is close by and on the first day of our stay it was warm and sunny and we be spent a few hours there. Overall we were happy with our stay here and would recommend as a base when visiting the city.
Great hotel in a great central location. Excellent breakfast and the room was clean and comfortable. Large bathroom with all the products you need. Highly recommend an ocean view room on an upper level. Nice bar downstairs with ocean views that have seats and tables reserved for hotel guests. Very nice touch.
Had large superior corner room with balcony and we could just glimpse the river as leaves obscured most of the view. Bed was so comfortable we wanted to take it home. Bedding and towels were very high quality. Lovely towelling coats. Toiletries provided were very nice. Shower was excellent. Good lighting and magnified mirror. Room was clean - decor was nice. Large glass doors to en-suite were a bit odd and didn’t seem to provide much privacy other than that worth the room rate for good location and large comfortable room. 3 minutes to main bus station, 5 minutes to beach and 5 minutes from Old Town. Beautiful old building. Large Roof terrace with bar was a bonus.
We have rented two rooms for one week in July 2023. Both apartments were very nice and spacious enough. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom and shower very nice, the hairdryer of good quality. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need (even a dishwasher, iron, drying racket for clothes). Great holiday home feeling! Definitely a 3-4 star experience. The city and the beach are in walking distance, so are numerous restaurants, bars, super markets, etc. And San Sebastian is a great city, for sure worth a return. Also very handy is the washing machine and dryer in the basement (4 Euro). What I would improve: 1. The idea of self cleaning the apartment is ok (the receptionist explained it clearly), but there is no groom available to wipe away the sand when coming from the beach, no cloth to clean the bathroom. So you either need to bring your own basic cleaning equipment for vacation or go and buy stuff. 2. We enjoyed having a toaster, but power outlets are on weird places (see pic). 3. We did not realize that parking facilities are super limited and did not reserve a spot in advance, so we ended up parking in a park house which was very expensive (Txofre, which is close by). 4. The apartment was clean, but not the balcony (bread crumbs and stains of coffee on the table), I would include the balcony to the cleaning routine.
Wwinnie96Loved this hotel! Would highly recommend it to all our friends and family. The position is perfect and the welcome we received was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was gorgeous. Two pretty shuttered windows overlooking the cathedral and square, fantastic bathroom and we both said the most comfortable bed we have slept on in an hotel for a while! Also the blackout blinds were excellent. House keeping just fantastic, so clean and tidy everyday. Narru the hotel restaurant was delicious and ate there twice!! You must book as it is very popular with locals too. The oxtail ravioli, hake with cauliflower and red tuna gazpacho just to highlight a few were just delicious. Above all the service from all the staff was tremendous. Always smiling and ready to offer great recommendations. Thank you for a super stay we will definitely return.
PPioneer64723816365Superb Hotel in suburb close to big hospital, you can park your car free of charge outside (if you find one). Rooms are luxury in all senses, recommend place in San Sebastian! Breakfast (officially 20€/Person) was disappointing. Not even a spanish Flute for tostada tomate only white toast.
Very central , supermarket across the street. Few mins walk to bus station and beach. Very neat little room with all the necessities plus thoughtful extras to make the stay comfortable like coffee/tea ( in the foyer), microwave, cutlery, fridge. The ladies working there are very kind and helpful . There is traffic noise at night but OK with windows closed . If your next door neighbour snores you will hear it! So bring earplugs . Pay attention to the info in the booking messages because the staff are based nearby in another property so there may be few mins wait to open the door for you . All queries answered straight away via WhatsApp , excellent service .
MMAV627The hotel is centrally located… close to Old Town, the beach and significant sights - all within comfortable walking distance. The breakfast buffet is more than sufficient and reasonably priced. The concierge and hotel staff are all very helpful and friendly. You don’t need more ; there is more than enough; and it is very comfortable.
