Good food,rooms and entertainment.the-one thing that stood out was all of the staff could not do enough to help everyone with a smile and a helping hand.This made our stay so relaxing.We would definitely stay there again.well done Royal Pier Hotel.

When we arrived at this hotel we were given a very small room that looked out to nothing but brick walls. We asked for a different room but were told there was nothing available, which we accepted. Within a couple of hours the manager found us sitting outside the hotel and offered us an upgrade which was perfect. All through the weekend of our holiday we found the staff very helpful and friendly. The bar was well stocked, and the restaurant food was very nice. Our group had a themed evening in the bar which the hotel staff happily supported. We had a really good weekend.

Where do I start? Even though in the wrong restaurant staff member continually answers back pensioners. The shower isn't clean The rooms are poky Rare to get Internet access Fire alarm went off one morning 3am and staff member just struggles to switch it off , telling residents to go back to your rooms. No investigation. Scary. I asked if it was a false alarm, to be told " I think so.im hope so. If it goes off again then obviously not". Funnily enough sleeping was difficult after that.

Just spent a wonderful week at the Royal Pier. All staff were amazing. So friendly and helpful. Food was excellant. Entertainment was good. We had a beautiful seaview room. There is a refurb programme going ahead at moment, which didnt detract from our enjoyment. We look forward to coming back to this hotel.

Warm comfortable hotel with plenty of food. It had everything we could want. Linen was crisp, showers were small but hot and all the rooms are en-suite I believe. Tea and coffee and a kettle in the room and two evenings of entertainment in the week. Staff were amazing, worked really hard to look after everyone. The hotel is by the sea, just behind the pier. Never tried the pool but looks inviting in the pictures.

We stayed at this hotel before and we loved it hence our return. We always call in for a drink even if we are staying at another hotel. The hotel we stay at is of course down to whichever coach company we travel with. The hotel is right on the sea-front with shops and other hotels within walking distance. It is clean with friendly and welcoming staff and the food is mouth-watering. Entertainment and fun. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

We and some other visitors from our coach placed our order for breakfast at 8.45 but we did not receive our meal until '09.20'? The coach was due to dep for a coastal tour in 10mins time so he had to wait for us-10mins late. The food was similar to child's plate, ie not enough. The toast was warm white bread-no colour to it. Complaints fell on deaf ears. Couldn't shower for 2 days as the water was cold? We had to boil the kettle and empty it into the sink then wash ourselves down with our flannel before heading down for the evening meal. Shower cubical/sink/and toilet are so close together we had to 'squeeze' out from the toilet? Sounds amusing but its not. In the end we went to the Bayshore Hotel next door for the entertainment. Worst holiday ever to the IOW during our 23 years visiting. I have complained via email to the hotel and Majestic Tours. Never again will we stay at this hotel.

The hotel is right by the sea front and we had a lovely view of the beach in our room. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful and our room was one that had been upgraded in stylish black, grey and white. The rest of the hotel is very, very tired with really dated and scuffed wallpaper and carpets that must be at least 30 years old but in a way that’s part of the charm. It is very old fashioned. Our room was large with tea and coffee facilities, a hair drier, TV but no toiletries. Wi fi didn’t work and even my own data and phone signal was patchy. (not the hotels fault). Water pressure in the shower was weak and the springs in the mattress were uncomfortable. We were there for a week and the room wasn’t cleaned - just the bin emptied and some surfaces ( not all) wiped. Being on a beach with sand meant it needed a vacuum and the sheets changing mid week. The hotel seems to cater for large and happy coach parties for the elderly. Despite my criticisms, I really like the place, it’s quirks and the atmosphere.

Just got back from a week's coaching holiday with my mum. We went with Grand UK Tours. Went with an open mind after looking at some of the reviews but can honestly say we had the best time. Yes a little tired in places but couldn't fault the hotel as a whole. Our room was beautiful, no 25. Sea view and huge. Food was fab, the lovely Emma was a delight. Entertainment was good. Staff were lovely. My mum has booked for next year already. Thank you Royal Pier for a wonderful stay
