橙樹旅館

The room was fine. No fridge and the smoke detector were missing though. The TV remote was buried in the chair and we didn't find it until we were about to leave. The bad was when we woke up there were thousands of ants in the room that we had to kill. There are a lot of holes in the walls from cutout drywall or prior repairs that were never patched and that's where the ants were coming in from. Wouldn't recommend based on that.

The floors were pretty dirty and it was pretty basic amenities for the price. The safe didn’t seem to work for example. And the headboard looked scratched or dirty. Seemed overpriced but it had most everything you needed. I guess it’s an expensive area so there must be a premium on that. We enjoyed the pool and the big room and back patio. We also found it conveniently located next to a sandwich spot and a bike rental to get to the main drag for shopping and to visit the boardwalk.

Good area. Got reservation wrong which was disappointing. SO NOISY. 8AM on a Saturday and the gardener is blowing down the entire property. Thin walls—you can hear all conversation let alone a leaf blower. Daylight came from under the door and through all curtains. Bed not comfy, toes kicked metal frame on floor every time you got into bed making more noise. “Cheap” for Santa Barbara but no comfort, no quality. Location good though if you want to rough it for a night—you just won’t leave rested.

The staff were super helpful and friendly, but the room was terrible. We literally had three throw pillows on our bed as sleeping pillows. I had to ask the front desk for a proper pillow and still only received a child size pillow. The bed was on top of some contraption that was tin and every time I moved in the evening it woke both me and my husband. There is no counter space in the bathroom. Tried using the blow dryer and found it wasn’t working (yes, tried everything including resetting). We were looking for a reasonably priced stay but it wasn’t worth it. Was supposed to stay two days, left after the first. Management needs to upgrade facilities. Didn’t use the pool, but it did look very good from afar.
