Room was great for family room: house keeping could have been better with coming in and sweeping the floors and fixing the rooms and bringing towels. Maybe I missed something on the agreement. We helped by putting out the trash and towels. The rock shower floor was great too see but to step on during showering sometimes was difficult. and maybe having a clear time of the office hours could help. Other than that great location and surroundings.

Our bedsheets had stains on it, outlets were missing covers, the bathtub looked dirty, there was no help desk at night, and parking is horrible. It’s super close to the pier, about 15 mins walk to boardwalk but other than that it’s horrible. Don’t be fooled by the pretty marketing photos. Look at trip advisor first before booking.

the room floor was not swept - pet hair everywhere. The overall feel of the room was not good. Bad paint, worn trim, just dingy all the way around. Will most definitely NOT stay here again. The location means nothing is the room is BAD....

A great find just 3 minutes' walk from the centre of Santa Cruz. The bay front inn is a traditional motel that's been updated with bright fresh and fairly minimalist decor, comfortable beds and crisp white bedlinen. Big flatscreen tv's.
At $ 60-80 a night we thought it was amazing value for money and a brilliant alternative to other tired motel rooms within the same price range. 
Complementary coffee, muffins and fresh fruit were available in reception in the morning, and an in-room folder suggests favourite local eateries, bars and sights to see. Reception staff were also very helpful offering more suggestions when we checked in. We didn't bring our dog, but next time we will they even had doggy treats in the lobby.

PRO: Location, price, friendly staff, dog friendly, pool. CON: Thin walls, cramped U-shaped parking lot, no table for luggage, etc. Enjoyed my impromptu 1 night stay here. Motel is near the end of Pacific Avenue, about 3 short blocks (@ 5 minute walk) to the Boardwalk & Wharf. Older motel that has been updated nicely: fresh paint, hardwood floors, sparse but newer furniture, big TV and good linens. Part of the motel is 2 story unit; other half is single story. My room (111) was the 1st floor of the 2 story unit. The walls are thin and you could hear everything upstairs and next door. Room has large TV, microwave, refrigerator and Keurig coffeemaker. Furniture is sparse: queen size bed, mission-style chair only. There is a pool and expanded continental breakfast. There are also pedal bikes for guests to use. Staff is very friendly and dog friendly. Be aware that the parking lot is cramped & crowded. Park on the street if you have a mid-size car. I would recommend this motel because of its location, price, pool and friendly staff. I would stay here again, but get a room in the 1 story unit.

Location was so great that I didn't care too horribly about the other bad things, but there were a lot. Reception staff did not seem to want to be there, the noise level was extremely high especially since I was on the first floor. I heard every move the people above me made. It was decently clean, but there were some cracks in floor and minor other issues that I was scared they'd keep my deposit because of. No breakfast and no bikes btw.

Great but the owner is never there and I still have a 100 dollar deposit pending on my cash app for a whole 2 weeks already. Which needed to be refunded to me.

In a great location — right in between the boardwalk and downtown so easy to walk around. For the price this place is awesome. Only complaint is the SMELL. Stayed here twice, the first time it was just the bathroom that had a bad sewage smell, the second time it was the whole room. Had to keep window open and still didn’t help much. Not sure if it’s the pipes or what but bad enough that we probably won’t stay here again unless it’s a last option which sucks because it’s a nice spot in great location.
