We are originally from El Cajon California, and came down for a quick visit so when I looked for hotels in the area, I was shocked that I found a Courtyard Marriott off of Magnolia. Lol. I used to live off Washington, and some of that area can be very sketchy so when we arrived, we were very pleasantly surprised and bonus was we are right next-door to the El Cajon police station, so made us feel even safer and that our vehicles are safe outside. Great location two minutes to Parkway, Plaza, and some of our most favorite Mexican restaurants as well as our favorite brewery Burning Beard. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay down in El Cajon away from the beaches and easy quick to the freeway everything about it was amazing! We will definitely be staying here on our visits as we do come down to El Cajon quite often.

Overall it was a nice stay, clean, comfortable and environmentally friendly hotel with all the basic amenities. However, housekeeping missed the due date for cleaning the room and returned to the room on the eve before checkout and room was not cleaned. Also towels and toilet paper were not replenished. So had to contact fron desk to let them know about the cleanliness of the room and low supplies. The employee at the Front desk was amazing and offered complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience and provided the necessary supplies. Additionally, i used the pool on first day of arrival and found the temperature of the water to be too cold. Another front desk advised that the temperature is kept between 70-73°. For fall months you may consider increasing the temperature by a few degrees.

We enjoyed our stay. Only had 1 bad experience when we checked in at midnight at counter person said they were unable to look up our Bonvoy member number. They said it was impossible to do (however multiple other Marriott's have been able to do it easily for me).

Overall, the room was very nice, updated and comfortable. We did have a little trouble using the remote control for the Television. Checking in was fairly easy and smooth. Service was very friendly. We were a little surprised to hear that the breakfast was not complimentary though. That should be something that needs to be noted on the Hotels website, since that was something I normally look for in the hotels that I stay at.

Beautiful hotel. Very clean. Great staff. Only complaint is the beds were so tall we had great difficulty getting into the beds! One of us is 95 years old and the other has Parkinson’s. I would think the bed in a handicap accessible room would be lower to the ground. Other than the struggle with the bed issue, our two day stay was comfortable and very enjoyable

The distance from San Diego Airport was convenient. Overall the property was managed very well from the staff to the cleanliness. Plenty of places to eat near the hotel and all within walking distance. The accessible room with accessible shower was better than most hotels provide elsewhere. Felt extremely safe at this hotel considering a police station is right next door. No complaints about this hotel!

They were having an mma event in the courtyard. The lobby was crowded with people from that and cluttered and dirty. The event was happening right below our room window and was noisy. We should have been informed of this event when reservations were made. Had a difficult time finding parking. If we are paying guests this shouldn’t be an issue.
