Terrible experience – stay away! We had a really unpleasant stay at Suntrap Hostel in Lagos. When we arrived, we couldn’t even get inside – the receptionist had gone out shopping, and we had to wait for over an hour. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, and even worse: we saw live bedbugs in the bed (see the pictures!!), which we showed to the owner. He promised to refund half of our money, but we never received anything back. We got bites on our bodies and didn’t want to sleep there. The room was tiny with no floor space, the door couldn’t close or lock properly and kept banging and creaking all night. There was constant noise from the street. The bathrooms were dirty and disgusting, with mold on the walls, and the kitchen was in such a bad and unhygienic condition that we didn’t even want to cook there. All this – and at a completely overpriced rate for what you get. The only positive thing is the location, but that doesn’t make up for all the problems. I would never choose this place again. A truly unpleasant experience – avoid this hostel!
