克洛斯德瓦克旅館(Clos de Vaul Creux)

Hostile and unwelcoming from the get go I cannot express how deeply I feel that you should avoid this place. The room is nice if a little cramped and opens onto the lounge / restaurant. There is also no door on the toilet so say goodbye to any sense of privacy. However that is where the exceptionally few niceties stop. The manageress is clearly weary from hosting and should do everyone a favour and just stop. It’s like staying with a strict elderly relative who you dropped in on unannounced, not someone you’ve paid £140+ a night to host you. She has done her very best to ruin a romantic weekend away. She locked an internal door, accused us of having done it, and left a slice of bread and croissant on the floor with a note. When we called her both by phone and shouting “hello” into the house we were ignored, only to find more doors locked proving she had been in the house the whole time. The following day we were lucky enough to get breakfast, but she snapped at us constantly, basically threw the plates down. Told us we could have eggs when we were “ready”, when we asked when that might be she said when we had finished the rest of our food. Then threatened to stop serving us altogether. She also expressed anger that we had not forewarned her that we were vegetarian. The booking system did not ask and in 2023 Im not in the habit of calling ahead and “warning” of my diet. She looked out three mouldy logs which slugs had made their home whilst also telling us to enjoy an “evening by the fire”. When I asked where I could get more should we need it, she said she would bring them in as needed. Spoiler - no more logs arrived. Doesn’t take a wilderness expert to figure out that that’s not enough to last more than an hour, let alone two nights. If you do find yourself in the unfortunate position of having wasted money and booking here, seek refuge at the Belair where there are friendly faces and a warm - unlimited - fire to enjoy an evening around. When not out walking the cliffs we hunkered there to avoid any uncomfortable interactions. Too uncomfortable to stay in the place we had spent hundreds on. She should be ashamed and either employ someone who knows the meaning of hospitality to run the house for her, or quit entirely. I wish her positivity and healing to recover from whatever event in her life has lead her to be so bitter. Had this been my first trip to Sark, I would never return. Luckily there are many sarkees who are grateful and deserving of your custom, I urge you to seek them out.

Great location, friendly host and staff, comfy bed, really clean room, fab breakfast and amazing steak dinner. What more could you ask for?! Thanks to Leigh, Denise and George for making us feel so welcome. We will definitely return on our next trip to Sark.

Friendly hostess could not do enough for us Clean comfortable beds. Rooms where clean. Breakfast was lovely. Honest box for drinks. Gardens are lovely. A relaxing place to stay. Location is good. Everything need is at hand for you.

What an absolutely gorgeous find. Leigh was so welcoming on our arrival. Our room was very comfortable and had a wonderful powerful shower. We slept very well, bed was comfortable and the bed linen gorgeous. Laying in bed listening to the birds… perfect. Breakfast was served in the court yard with views of the garden. Breakfast is between 9 and 10 which is a very civilised time in my view ! Beautiful tasty homemade bread, French preserves, croissant and choice of cooked breakfast. Washed down with tea and fruit juice. The only downside was that we had to leave. Will return very soon

Had a great four days with Leigh at her lovely guest house. She is very attentive. The house is beautiful and I would say vey central to all areas of the beautiful island of Sark The room we had was comfortable though the bed a bit soft for us. Bedding was very nice The breakfasts were good and locally sourced All in all a great stay with a really nice lady

The rooms were lovely and the location is great however the welcome is lacking. I understand we are guests in someone’s home but there is a big difference in being made welcome and being made to feel like you’re an inconvenience visitor rather than a paying customer. The way the owner Leigh spoke to her staff was condescending and made us feel uncomfortable. A little more friendly approach would certainly transform the experience. In its day it was probably a 4 star establishment unfortunately time is taking its toll. Sark is wonderful and down to earth so no need pay these prices for somewhere you don’t feel relaxed.

Relaxing stay in a lovely quirky home. Leigh was friendly and very accommodating. We and our dog were made to feel very welcome. We were very lucky having decided very last minute to stay an extra night that Leigh was able to accommodate us at what seemed to be a busy time.

I stopped at clos de cal creux and I deffinately was not disappointed From the moment I arrived up until my departure I was greeted upon arrival by Leigh who. Is a very charming host Was shown to my room which I could not fault Break fast the following morning was excellent I chose to have dinner on my second night And yet again I was not disappointed So if you want somewhere to stay on sark look no further than this delightful place Can’t wait until I visit sark again Thanks to Leigh and her charming staff

The bed was comfortable and the breakfast excellent albeit limited choice. Spotlessly clean - and that's it! The Clos De Vaul Creux is a guest house and would be excellent if positioned as a B&B with a garden, however we were mislead by the website and marketing into thinking it was a hotel comparable to the best on Sark. References to Raymond Blanc and Heston Blumenthal were not only misleading, but verging on the delusional. High expectations set be the hostess were simply not met. As an example, we were invited to return at 6.30 pm for dinner. 'I think I will throw my chef in at the deep end, ask for anything you like!' - there was no chef and NO DINNER available at all! Even in the most difficult of circumstances, we would have understood and an omelette and salad would have sufficed - nothing! ' No explanation; just shown the street with the suggestion we went down the pub where they do panini! Dining choices on Sark are limited and to be let down in this way without apology is pretty disgraceful. (Fortunately AJ's Cafe did us proud with a warm welcome and excellent fish and chips.) The Gautama coffee 'I have specially roasted' was good, but contrasted markedly with stale tea-bags and UHT milk in the room that had been off for days, if not weeks; and not replenished! There was freshly baked bread and croissants for breakfast on the first morning; but the previous days bread and croissants the following day! The TV was not tuned and the WIFI did not connect.
