De ontvangst was prima en werden geholpen door een sjouwer. Het hotel is van alle gemakken voorzien en hebben zelfs biljart, pool, tafeltennis en tafelvoetbal als vermaak. De medewerkers zijn vriendelijk, maar toch lopen er op het complex af en toe mensen die je wat willen aansmeren. Vooral als je net komt wordt je door bijna iedereen aangesproken en zelfs op het strand lopen de hosselaars honderden meters met je mee. Hier kan het hotel natuurlijk niets aan doen. De beveiliging is goed en bij de strandbedden mogen behalve fruitverkopers geen andere verkopers komen. Het eten en drinken bij het strand is ook prima net als de serveerders. Stroom valt zo nu en dan uit en je kunt er ook geld wisselen. Het grootste nadeel is dat er tussen 20:00 en 22:00 live muziek is en ook in het naastgelegen hotel. Een oud afgeleefd hotel dat op dit ogenblik nog weinig onderhouden wordt. Veel ruimtes en/of gebouwen staan al lange tijd leeg en daar wordt dan ook niets meer aan gedaan buiten alle rommel in opslaan wat je dan ook van de buitenkant kan zien. Verschillende gebouwen zijn niet geverfd of de verf bladdert af. De beach bar wordt niet meer gebruikt en lijkt een ruïne. Meubilair is over het algemeen, op de receptie na, versleten. In de ontbijtruimte mag je maximaal 1u verblijven servetten waren er tijdens ons verblijf niet. Het ontbijt is alle dagen hetzelfde met een maximum van 2 eieren. Dit hotel is duidelijk een budget hotel, ik zou het niet aanraden. De badkamer is vernieuwd en ok wel krijg maar 1 handdoek per persoon, een minuscuul klein zeepje per kamer en geen douchegel, geen stopcontact. Pool is ok en goed onderhouden. De matrassen op de strandbedden zijn vuil en versleten en nodigen niet uit om erop te gaan liggen. Op het personeel valt niets aan te merken, vriendelijk en behulpzaam. WiFi enkel erg wisselend aan het zwembad en in de receptie. In onze kamer was geen WiFi ontvangst. Aan het strand is ook WiFi signaal maar krijg je de code niet. Al bij al typisch Afrika maar er zijn veel betere hotels.

Ik had half pension geboekt en in plaats van een buffet kreeg ik een menukaart waar ik tot 700 dalasi (11 euro) kon uitzoeken.twee gerechten zijn uitgezonderd: surf and turf (kaartprijs 700 dalasi) en nog een vis met garnalen schotel(750 dalssi) Het ontbijt vanmorgen was een ramp! Wat pannekoekjes en lege schappen fruit ( uitgedroogde sinassappel schijfjes ) Lag er aan dat ik laat kwam ontbijten . Een gekookt ei was er niet meer maar uiteindelijk toch een omelet gescoord! Ik kreeg ook vast te horen dat ik morgen max 2 eieren zou krijgen . De directie vond dit allemaal normaal! Als je dit boekt bereid je voor op eten buiten de deur want hier zijn ze uit op je geld! Koelkastje ontbreekt op de kaners maar die moet je huren voor 2500 dalasi per week( 40 euro) De tv is postzegelformaat en bij de douche ontbreekt gel /shampoo! Basic basic voor een fikse prijs

Stayed here with my wife & daughter for the second time .The hotel is ideally located on the beach & easy to get out & about ..Palm Beach is always kept clean plus caters for all ages , as my 4 year old daughter loves it here .And great for a evening drink sat around the pool .I would highly highly recommend anyone to stay here .As Raj & his staff are excellent at making your stay perfect , and if any problems do arise , they always do their best to sort the issues out . A charming hotel which represents the very best of Gambia. The hotel staff are so friendly and could not be more helpful. The food is fantastic and there is music every night, which creates a wonderful inviting atmosphere. There is a really relaxing feel to the place. The price is very reasonable. Next time I intend to go to Gambia I will be returning to Palm Beach Hotel.

Just returned from another great holiday in The Gambia staying at Palm Beach for approx 20th time..this hotel gets mixed reviews but all I can say is...Go with an open mind you will be staying in a 2* hotel, with basic accomodation and a little rough around the edges, so do not expect to get 5* luxury..but what you will get is 5* service. The staff are faultless very friendly, helpful and accomodating, nothing is too much trouble and they will bend over backwards to make your stay enjoyable. The pool boys will go above and beyond to find you a sunbed and umbrella, the waiters will always be on hand day and night for your food and drinks needs, the reception staff on hand for any concerns and advice, there is entertainment every night, cultural groups live bands and if you play Bingo you will have a unique experience. The holiday myself and my husband have each time we go calls us back again and again.. and... the location is AMAZING literally on the beach ⛱️

Nice hotel, people need to remember this is a 2 star hotel in The Gambia. The good point out weigh the negatives. Nice room, cleaned daily, free aircon which is a plus, king size bed very comfy, asked for a blanket got a quilt, hot shower. Drink choice good, really nice coffee and food ok. Each evening bought can of coke and got the ice free, never got charged. Taxis available outside or a nice stroll on the beach gets you most places. The staff are friendly and helpful, evening entertainment ok, bingo, karaoke and live music. Very quiet this time of year as it’s Ramadan. Yes I will be returning next season, I have stayed in Gambia many times in 3&4 star hotels most I would not go back to now we have found Palm Beach. Thanks to all the staff for a great holiday.

Palm beach hotel when we arrived we were met by very friendly staff and booked in to are room that evening the owners son met with us asking if everything was ok and if we needed anything just let him or any of the staff know we were very satisfied with our room very clean every day breakfast was that nice we ate to much night time food from the pool bar was excellent beer nice and cold entertainment brilliant well done to all for a great holiday BAD POINT HOLIDAY WENT TO QUICKLY BUT WE WILL RETURN.
