SSeaside64333308015Stayed one week with my family, returned home this week. Not good for people with mobility issues due to having lots of steps and no lifts. Beautiful hotel from the outside, stunning white building with turquoise shutters, unfortunately the rooms let down the holiday for us. Positives -Beautiful looking hotel -Food was ok, always had a good salad and bread selection (didn’t get bad tummy) -Staff were amazing - couldn’t do enough to help. -Head chef at the restaurant was so helpful, noticed my daughter was fussy with her food and offered to cook different food daily, as well as providing the fresh fruit she liked. Room Old, tired and unclean rooms. We moved from first due to tiny shower, little did we know that the new room would be larger but shower still tiny. - furniture was old and worn, pillows were strong smelling & needed replacing - Shower was absolutely tiny, not comfortable. - Bathrooms unclean, dirty/smelly shower curtains, mildew on tiles and seals. - Dirty floors, bathroom floor needed a good scrub, grouting dirty. - Dusty floors & skirting boards. We had a pistachio shell on the floor in the same place for the entire holiday. - Advertised tea/coffee making facilities but had to ask repetitively for kettle. - No natural light in the rooms due to the shutters, not able to open some so had to rely on lamps as no ceiling lights. - Hard bed, not comfortable. Bar very small, not able to accommodate all guests. Pool Where to start. Not nearly enough loungers for the guests. Sunbeds are reserved 24/7, only get a chance to reserve one if someone goes home, or you pay the pool guys. Blu Blu bar in the pool was nice but busy and had to wait a while to be served as only manned by one person. Juices were artificial and strong, not nice. Icecream served each day 12-5, but bar guy turned off machine early most days. Hotel Transport The hotel provide a cheap transport bus to the beach, and trips to the Old Town, Soho and the shopping area, at around $2 return per person. There is a taxi guy in hotel reception who can arrange transfers wherever else you want to go. Local Beaches The hotel beach is not the best, I don’t recommend visiting. We took a transfer to El Fenar beach which was a man made dusty cliff edge with access to the sea via steps. You can snorkel here. When you arrive, there are two entrances, the left side is the better spot with a lovely restaurant attached and place you can hire snorkeling gear. The restaurant manager was great and they did the most amazing food which was very cheap. The best beach we found was Sharks Bay (Sharks Bay Oasis Hotel) - It looks derelict when you drive toward it, but it is a beautiful cove with a lovely restaurant overlooking the stunning beach. - There is a place to hire snorkelling gear (100 Egyptian pounds per day - 62p) and book water sports and boat trips. The owner was great, very knowledgable. - This is a great snorkelling spot. - The restaurant was lovely, we ate here a f
