I was originally in room 324. The room had water damage in the ceiling, the bathroom door would not shut because it would drag on the floor, and the toilet would run constantly. I was then moved to room 211. The door to the room would not lock when the door fully shut. You had to lift up on the handle to get the lock to engage. The gal at the counter said they have no way of knowing about damage without a customer telling them. Why do I have to pay them to stay the night, plus do a service for them?

I’ve stayed at many Choice Hotels without issues, but this one was shocking. • Mold-covered and greasy chairs • Bug-infested drawers • Hair clogging the drain • Stains all over the walls When I reported it, I was handed a sheet to cover the mold instead of being offered a clean room. I had to check out for my own safety.

One of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. Mold on the bathroom ceiling and around the tub, the faucet on the tub dripped all night, and the toilet wobbled. The worst part was the bugs, both dead and alive. One crawled across my daughter while she was sleeping.

Booked for 5 nights, on checkin the lady was friendly, informed us Room cleaning would be on the 3rd day unless we requested it earlier. On the 3rd day on returning, our room wasn’t done, returned to reception and told, no we don’t do that anymore, and tomorrow is Christmas so it won’t be done either. 5 nights with not so much as our bin being emptied, new toiletries or towels, very unprofessional. I git new towels and was told to put the old ones outside my room, well they are still sitting in the hallway the next day! Rooms are old and clearly no maintenance has been done in them for years, health department would shut them down in any other country. Curtains are dirty, stained and falling apart as they are old and rotten. Rooms on bottom floor are facing carpark, so you have cars waking you up all the time, and people upstairs thumping around. We have never been treated by reception apart from checkin, there is never anyone sitting there, so no security at all. Breakfast has been standard, but that’s ok. We wake up on Christmas Day, to find absolute no breakfast, not even cereal out, this would have been nice to know the day prior, so we could purchase food before the shops closed for the break, I guess we will have no Christmas breakfast, not very festive or helpful when your in a different country and travelling with your teenage son. Also paid for breakfast in our rate, s I guess we will get a refund🤦‍♀️ The receptionist was not interested in our concern this morning, pretty much said “everything is closed” and was not interested in providing any advice or help. We have also been approached by a gentleman twice in the laundry (credit card operated only, again not great for over seas travelers who get charged a conversion rate and extra fees) he has tried to get us to go to his Airbnb in downtown Sherman. We felt very uncomfortable, but again no security or reception staff to be seen, so I guess anyone can walk in. Room is so dark, you can barely see, which is probably a good thing. About 6 power outlets only 1 or 2 work if you unplug a lamp which is the only lighting. I would recommend staying at the Holiday In express, as it’s basically in the same car park. Do yourself a favor and don’t book here! See photos attached, mouldy & rotten drapes, wall paper wet and falling off walls. Trash all over driveway on entering, it’s been there the whole 4 days
