咖啡西隆B&B民宿

A nice, cozy B&B with friendly staff and situated in the centre of Shillong. We spent 3 nights in the 'luxury room' which was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was simple but delicious. Police Bazaar and Ward's lake are walkable and the former is good for street shopping (expensive though) and has a number of eateries. Swiggy and Zomato deliveries are also available. The rooms have common walls and this was an inconvenience as we had some noisy neighbours.

Visited during Christmas season so was beautifully decorated. Cozy place with good rooms and friendly staff. Food was good too. We stayed for a day and were allotted the right size room for three. There are no elevators. So walking your bags down is a bit of trouble.

We had absolutely amazing experience at this place. Worth every penny spent. The place is great and it's facilities very good. The staff behaviour specially the manager needs special mention. They arranged for our local transport and food as we wanted it. It is very next and clean. I would recommend the place for family holiday.

We stayed on the first floor new wing which had 2 adjacent rooms and they are very spacious with balconies . The furniture is classy wooden and the bed is most comfortable with fluffy pillows. The breakfast was warm ..pohe Puri bhaji on the first day with choice of eggs .and Paratha chhole pohe eggs on the second day. People are warm courteous. The manager Amanda was very helping and polite. The property is very clean and maintained well. What they don't have is a backup power and restaurant for lunch or dinner. the candles were provided on request when there was power failure on both days . One can walk down from cafe Chillong restaurant which serves dinner till 10 pm. The weather was cool throughout so did not miss the AC atall. Overall it was a pleasant stay and would definitely recommend to travellers .

Don't go by pictures, they're misleading. I was travelling with my parents on 28th April and had booked a triple occupancy room. Upon reaching the location we saw that it is situated at a high risk turn and very steep, all passengers have to get out of the car so that the car can climb the slope. Having ahead parents meant they had to walk the steep slope to get to the cottage. This was just the beginning- upon checking in we realised the room just has one standing fan, when requested if one more could be provided since we were three people, the lady who was managing there was extremy rude. They will not accommodate any request, I repeat any request! Truth be told I wanted to meet the owner/host as I had read about her but when I enquired if the owner would be visiting, one of the helpers said yes she might but the lady manager again responded very rudely saying the host never visits. When asked for wifi password they will route you to your room intercom device- information om network and password written there,but when you open your device you won't find the network, when you complain they will make faces and switch the router on which ultimately will be switched off in a matter of few minutes., if you qsk again they say not ohr issue. Breakfast is nothing but watery sambar tasting like hot boiled water with salt, onlh saving grace there is the bread toast and boiled egg(no omlettes). The staff is highly unbothered abd doesnt bothwr to respond and no staff will be on the property after 10 pm. The toilet seat was soiled when we checked in. Avoid avoid avoid!

Don't book this property if you have other options. It's not at all worth the price. Though the hotel and the room looked nice at the first glance it's not a comfortable stay. The washroom taps were broken. The main door lock was broken too. They did some work to fix the issues but the washroom tap could not be fixed. We almost had to use the washroom like primitive era. Secondly, it being a boutique hotel, the rooms are all connected with very thin walls. You will be able to listen to your neighbours song and pressure cooker music from 5 in the morning. Similarly your conversation can be heard from every other room. The dining area is way too small. They only offer breakfast. So in case it rains heavily and swiggy/Zomato do not accept your order you will have to fast. Very few staff so service though okay takes a lot of time. Suggestion is to avoid this one unless it's a very cheap deal.

The rooms were clean and spacious but there is no restaurant at the hotel. It is not a hotel basically it's a person house turned into guesthouse. The parking is very steep and uneasy. It's a bit far from the police bazar and market area. The prices are unjustified.

I went to visit Shillong after many years with my children, and booked for three nights, but I left after 2 nights. I had booked 2 rooms and asked that we may be accommodated near each other. This was refused. I stayed at the new building that was set apart from the main building. My room had no wifi access and in spite of me telling them about it , I did not get any help. The TV did not work and lastly there was a power cut every night from 12 to 5 am. This I was told was all over Shillong, because the State Govt imposed it. I am not sure about that, but this is a safety issue and they should be upfront and tell their guests about it well in advance. If this was to be the case they should provide flash lights and candles to their guests. I had a guest knock at my kids door at 4 am because she had no idea what to do in the dark!! For future guests I recommend that you ask about which room you will get and insist on the main building. Also make sure that they give you candles and matches or flash lights. One thing that I did enjoy was the breakfast served in the morning. The kitchen staff was very accomodating.

I will tell you exactly why you should not visit this property. I visited this on month of June. 1) ZERO SECURITY. Some boarders left front door open at 1:30 midnight and nobody not a single security was in sight who had responsibility to close it 2) NO POWER BACKUP : there was loadshedding from 12 am-4am and i was sitting there in pitch dark for a room that i paid 3717 a night. And i was dead scared of dark. It was clearly mentioned they had power backup 3) Shillong often has blackout hours and as a hotel service they didn't have the minimum sense to aware their boarders of the same . 4) front door was left unlocked 5) no proper ceiling fan or ac. And it was scorching heat on 3rd morning . I was sweating like anything yet they didn't have the facility because they want you to live like a caveman. ( And mind it they were charging 3717 a night for nothing ) 6) towels were torn hard and old 7) on MakeMyTrip it was showing 3717 with tax and on call they demanded 4000+12% tax . 8) zero continuous warm water if you need it. One soap and two shampoo satchet left . Overall please don't visit this property if you want comfort
