Great place. Perfect location, it's a nice walk to city center. Rooms are beautiful and confortable. The hotel is very well maintained for a heritage property. Pool area is very pleasant. Breakfast is good (only the toested bread is very cheap quality). We had very nice dinner with local specialities. I recommend.

Tolles altes Hotel mit jeder Menge Geschichte. Das Personal ist super nett und dennoch absolut professionell. Ich wurde als Mitglied des Mandarin-Oriental-Kundenbindungsprogrammes, das mit Oberoi kooperiert, in eine große Suit upgegradet. Das Zimmer war super, hatte eine tolle Aussicht und - was für mich eine echtes Luxushotel ausmacht - Obst und frische Blumen auf dem Zimmer. Das Restaurant bietet eine breite leckere Küche, die ausgezeichnet schmeckt. Und *** hat immer das Gefühl, dass alle einem den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich machen wollen. Ich kann das Cecil also nur empfehlen. Die Lage ist perfekt zwischen Viceregal Lodge und Mall Rd. Beides ein schöner Spaziergang.

We had a superb stay at the hotel. The place is very fine and the hospitality is over the top! Great people and they go the extra mile to provide you with a level of customisation you wouldnt get anywhere else. At least my stay was like that! Rooms are spacious and plenty of excellent amenities, like the indoor heated pool, the children's activity area, the lounge. Great stay, highly recommended. PS. The place is 2-3 Km from Mall Road. Rooms don't have balconies or sit out areas.

Excellent hotel, excellent staff, food, ambience. Cecil is in a very good area in Shimla, not too far from the mall road yet away from the crowd. This is extremely good for both tourists and Business travelers.
