Front desk help was great, but the elevator ride to the 3rd floor was disappointing—the floor and the door were dirty with dried soda stains on the inside of the elevator door. Once I got to my room (326) I found that the AC/Heating unit was dead, and it was cold outside. Room temperature was maybe 50°. There were holes in the control panel and missing/broken buttons. The bathroom fixtures were old and rusty—with an older yellowish stained toilet seat that did not match the toilet. The base of the desk lamp was scratched and rusty. Shreveport is in a humid area, but I’ve never seen that much rust on an interior light fixture. I went downstairs to the front desk and explained to the clerk that the AC/Heating unit was broken. She promptly gave me a key card to the room across the hall (325), so I went back upstairs to move my belongings to the new room. While the AC/Heating unit was functional, it also had missing buttons and actual holes in the control panel. This is a safety hazard. Also noticed rust on the desk lamp in the new room—where did these lamps come from?? When I attempted to take a shower, the shower head was broken and the shower diverter lever on the spigot was broken. I was very tired and didn’t think another new room would be any better, so I settled for a low pressure, dribble shower. The bedding was decent but not enough pillows. I would never stay at this hotel again; it needs to be bulldozed and rebuilt. The staff TRIED hard to overcome maintenance issues.
