We stayed in room 3 at the bull, the location was fantastic, the downside was the bathroom was across the hall from our room and it was a tiny bathroom that felt it had been shoehorned into an cupboard, it had mould over the walls and celling of the bathroom. The actual room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable.

I only booked for one night to break our journey to North Wales from London, so my expectations were not that high, I just wanted a bed for the night. The location was within walking distance from Shrewsbury station, down a small alley off the main shopping street. I didn't realise it would get quite noisy, and there was actually a band playing in the pub the night of our stay - our room was directly above it! So we went to bed late! For some this could've been a disaster, but saw the funny side and at least the band were playing songs I liked, and I travelled with ear plugs so did manage to get to sleep. The room was well equipped, comfortable & clean besides this. I had booked breakfast but due to not realising what time it would start from and having to be on an early train, actually couldn't stay for it. To compensate the lady who checked us in kindly offered to make us lunch instead, so we had some sandwiches, nuts, crisps and snacks from the bar to take with us, which I appreciated, as I was travelling with my young son.

Nice location close to rail station. Pleasant good service. Clean room. Nice breakfast. No cereal available. Bathroom cramped.

A lovely one night stay at The Bull, The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially as I was travelling with my arm in a sling, even to the point of offering to cut my breakfast up so I could eat it 😂😂😂 this was very appreciated! In my room the shower cubicle needed a better clean as there were long hairs from where some one has washed their hair and the bedroom curtains needed blackout blinds in the actual window recesses to block out the street lights, and in the recess, as people could look up from the street and see behind the curtains. Signage or more visible prompts explaining where to go to check in would also be good ! All that having been said I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others needing a short stay in the town.

Super location in the centre, excellent & friendly team

Overall service was okay but the accommodation side needs upgrading and a proper cleaning to spruce the place up. Staff are respectable and accommodating.

Wi fi need to be fixed

Not the most relaxing stay. Not the best of stays, if I'm being honest. Open mike night on downstairs right below my room, decided to go down and have a few drinks as couldn't hear the telly. Went to bed at 11pm when music finished then got woken up by police banging on my bedroom door saying that there had been an incident outside the hotel involving an assault on bar staff and one of them had identified me as one of those involved. I tried to explain that this wasn't really possible as I'd been in bed since 11.20 but apparently I couldn't have been because I was outside fighting at 12.20. Phoned hotel next day and got apology, still waiting for my apology from the female police woman who insisted that she'd seen the CCTV footage and it was definitely me. Are they really allowed to lie in order to trick someone into confessing, I'm sure they're not. Anyway all in all not the best of stays and in conclusion I'd say don't stay here unless you have a cast iron alibi.
