玫瑰酒店(Hotel la Rose)

The room was spacious, having said that, it needed a small table and two chairs to have a place to sit and eat or play a game. The bed was way too firm, neither myself or my husband slept well. I appreciate the grounds staff keeping things clean but they need to run the leaf blower at other times than 5 PM or waking us up at 7 AM. The bathtub drain was slow and I stood in 2 inches of water while showering. Also, there needs to be some artwork on the walls, it gives the feeling of a funeral home. The staff was very friendly and checkout by text is very convenient. The locked gate is great for safety. With just a few changes, it could really improve the guest experience.

First, let’s go over the positives. It’s a beautiful historical place with kind, attentive staff. Now onto the negatives. When you first walk in the lobby has a very strong but pleasant, perfumed odor. However, that odor permeates through the entire hotel despite being on the fourth floor I felt like I was suffocating in my room. It gave me an excruciating migraine, and I was not able to spend any time in the hotel room. I spent all of my time outside, sitting in my car until it was bedtime. I was forced to sleep with the balcony door and windows open, causing my room to be freezing cold. When I went to check out, I discovered I had been randomly charged $400 extra and the staff was unable to figure out how or why I was charged And was unable to remove the charge without me contacting my bank which my bank that I needed to contact them and I still am missing $400. It’s too bad because if the hotel had it made me physically ill and broke it would’ve been a lovely’s day.

Built in 1907 this grand old hotel is charming. Rooms are small but very adequate. Decorated in the style from when it was built. Very nice deli/bar downstairs. Several very good dining restaurants within easy walking distance.

I was very upset with my stay here at Hotel Rosa. I decided to book this hotel with my girlfriend to stay here for my sisters wedding happening on weekend and I made sure to book this hotel well ahead of time so that we could lock in a nice room and when I showed up to check in to my room they decided to give us a room with a slanted ceiling and said they had no other rooms available even though online it showed there were. Mind you I am 6'3" and no where on their site does it show a room to book with a slanted wall. The pictures and reviews I saw showed a room that was your typical floor to ceiling and not a half triangle room. Not only did we pay far in advance to give them our business but it felt like they gave us the crappiest room for doing that. The bell staff also felt like they were being rude to me when I asked kindly to see if they had another room and I felt like they just didn't care to even check when online they really did have more rooms. Really really disappointed. I was hoping to enjoy my stay here. Just make sure you put in a special note to not get the slanted hotel room especially if you are 6'3" like myself. Best of luck!

Having stayed at La Rose a few times, I am always happy with it's convenient location and amenities - including parking!

We checked in on June 11 around 4 pm. The street was closed due to a planned city event. We had to circle the block couple of times before a police office let our car through. The hotel never contacted us prior to check in to bring this to our attention and provide directions on how to access the hotel and park vehicle. When I brought this up at the time of check-in the lady just said oh yes and shrugged it off. No apology nor acknowledgment of any kind that perhaps they dropped the ball on this.. She couldn’t care less about the inconvenience nor our stay. Her interaction upon check-in was indifferent and unwelcoming. She lacked the basics of hospitality. I must’ve passed her several times in the next few hours. Not once did she make eye contact, smile or inquire if all was okay. I am not sure if the property offers any training to their staff (and if they do, I doubt if this person was awake). The rooms in the main hotel building are dated and need some upkeep/renovations. On the positive side, the location is good and the restaurant below provides good service. Perhaps the food service staff can train the front desk staff on basic etiquette.

A light shown all night outside of our room. The temperature in the room was too warm and no ability to change it. But the hotel and convenience were great.

Was given the slanty little person room and my wife is quite tall she kept hitting her head in the room ... They didn't warn us about that
