I turned up after dark to a very impressive, well lit venue. Very helpful staff and easy check in. Lovely room, not particularly big but a very comfortable bed with a nice bathroom (great shower) and tea making facilities. I did not have dinner or breakfast there and left quite early so did not spend much time there on this occasion. It is in a very nice, quiet location and easy to access from the M25 via the M4 or M40. I certainly plan to stay there again. The Christmas decorations were very well done - beautiful.

Absolutely amazing hotel with friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable and tidy. We will definitely be back again soon.

We were in the garden view rooms. It was so noisy at 7:30 in the morning we were woken up by the lawn mower and workers walking around on the roof. I burned my hand on the water coming from the tap as it was BOILING water. The floor tiles in the bathroom were dusty and dirty. It seemed that this room had not been cleaned in a while. Not happy with the stay as we thought staying inna 4-star venue would be a more luxurious.

Very disappointing the Hotel is very old and needs a complete renovation the room was very uninviting not clean Hotel door was not secure. My wife felt very uncomfortable about sleeping in the room. We settled the bill and checked out with out staying and drove another 3 hours back home

Some parts of this hotel look great and decorated well. However, most areas look quite run down and in need of a clean up/refurbish. The grounds are beautiful and parking was easy. We were initially given a garden room in the mews block (room 48). It was dirty and run down. Quite deceivingly, it wasn't really like the photographs of the rooms advertised. We spoke to reception who moved us to a room within the house which was better and cleaner (room 24) albeit still in need of a refurbish. Being an old building, understandably, the sound insulation wasn't great between the rooms and the corridor so we could hear everything from the next room and late wedding guest going back to their rooms. So our nights sleep was not great. The bar staff were helpful and friendly, although they seemed to have no idea how to make the cocktails on offer. The food being served looked delicious though and the next morning breakfast was great also. Overall, it the hotel was ok. I've definitely stayed in much much better hotels for the money we paid. Would I recommend this hotel to others... in short - no.

Used for a wedding so maybe a slightly different experience to some. Pros: Easy and plenty of parking. The buildings used for the wedding was great. Well laid out and separated into different uses. Eating/group area, bar / dancing area and outside all well looked after and large enough for most things. The staff were all friendly and helped out where they could. Large grounds to wander around with lots to see. The garden room was large enough to feel not boxed in and was quiet even with wedding guests around. Bed was very comfy Breakfast was great. Hotel was really great at getting me an early checkin so we could deal with our 2 children before the wedding. Thank you. Cons: Animal and dog poo over the lawns, animal poo I get but the dog poo was horrible. Our group had lots of kids, at least 2 stepped in poo. Not nice as she had taken shoes off to run in the grass. Although all the staff were friendly a fair amount English was 2nd or 3rd language which made some requests/ questions hard to answer or communicate although we did get there in the end. I travel a lot with work, the service and grounds are 4 star but the upkeep of the hotel and rooms is certainly not. Room felt neglected on the medium/small details and the shower overflowed the enclosure within seconds. Overall though a good experience and would return for weddings and getaways but maybe not with the kids. Cheers

On arrival the hotel looked lovely from the outside, however while waiting to check in I noticed cobwebs in the reception area but disregarded it at that point and we were shown to the ‘outside rooms’. The walkway to the rooms made it apparent that this area is not taken care of in the slightest, overgrown with ****s, spiders and webs everywhere, I have severe arachnophobia and was terrified walking to the room. The rooms themselves were horrific, ants everywhere including on the bed, which my 8 year old daughter woke up to in the morning and began screaming and crying as a result. There was cobwebs in all the corners and again more spiders, the curtains were dirty at the bottom, as were the windows, completely run down, the whole place felt filthy. Comparable to the Bates Motel, would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

So sorry to have to write a bad review as have stayed here before and it was lovely. The price was jacked up as there was a wedding going on so most of the rooms had been sold. They therefore only had one or two rooms available I am guessing. In what would have been the servants quarters in the original house. I mention this only due to the small size of the room but also because of the almost dangerous small wimdy stairs that you have to get up to them with your case. The room was small and had a mobile air conditioning unit with a nossle hanging out of the window as I am guessing it get unbearably hot in there. Just not up to standard for what was a very expensive room. Very rarely we complain and the first time I have actually left the hotel and had to go and pay for another hotel.

I booked and paid for on arrival I was turned away buy receptionist them saying they havnt had a email off ********** and were unable to give me a room because of this even tho I had a confirmation number and booking from ********** The receptionist was rude and very unhelpful terrible service from hotel and ********** I will never use this company again
