雪松莊園酒店(Cedar Manor)

My wife and I had the privilege of staying at Cedar Manor in November 2023. We timed our trip for the week after Thanksgiving and it worked out beautifully! The tourist crowd was mostly gone and we were able to go and see all of the lovely surrounding areas of the Lake District. The weather was surprisingly cooperative. Cedar Manor was a perfect choice, not only because it is strategically placed near the center of the District, but also because the owners, Caroline and Jonathan Kaye, have clearly put a lot of love into this lovely little part of Windermere. We enjoyed our room, which was meticulously kept by a friendly staff; our meals, perfectly prepared each morning to our order; and our tea, which was a delightful experience that you shouldn't miss if you visit the area. In all, this is a boutique accommodation with really lovely spaces and a local feel that is all about the region, including beautiful artwork on the walls (we bought 2 paintings!) and furniture appointments that feel luxurious without being stuffy. We were grateful for the opportunity to get to know the area and to the Kayes for their perfect hospitality!

Jonathan and CC Caroline think of everything! Their mission is to meet every need and they do that by asking, listening, and doing. Small things like preferred foods, beverages, trip and walk recommendations, room supplies and cleaning products were all customized. At the same time, we felt like part of the family during our stay. We read, relaxed, and talked in every room on the main floor. Super comfortable, quiet, and spacious. The grounds are immaculate thanks to Caroline's love and attention. Our hosts were also our chefs and servers for memorable personally ordered breakfasts each morning at the time of our choice. All delicious! The location is perfect for short walks to the lake and local hikes. It's also ideal for Grasmere and ferry docks. In the middle of everything. Best tip - enjoy the afternoon tea! It's delicious and relaxing. Plenty of sandwiches, pastries, tea and coffee and other surprises. We had ours on couches near the bar area away from the dining room. We also appreciated their dedication to sustainability and environmental impact. I cannot recommend this establishment more highly. 6 out of 5 stars!

Nothing too much trouble for the owners, Caroline and Jonathon - breakfast and afternoon tea both superb. Our room was comfortable and spotless with little extras (handmade local chocs and Prosecco) if you book direct. (As it was my birthday there were even more little extras!) We've lost count of the number of times we have stayed here and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Windermere.

We decided to book last minute a few days away in the lakes, we managed to get the last room which was the Bowness Suite. Upon arrival into this stunning property we could tell we would enjoy our stay, the hotel itself is old and has great character and charm,also the grounds itself. The couple whom own it and run it are fantastic people and very welcoming. The room itself was great and throughout some nice personal touches The breakfast and service was first class. Walking distance from anything you need. We will be back no doubt Thank you for a great experience.

This is truly an amazing boutique hotel. From the beautiful decor to the amazing breakfasts. The hosts Caroline & Jonathan are so welcoming making our visit even more special. We highly recommend this gem of a hotel. We loved it that much we are already booked in for December 2024.

Caroline and Jonathan run an impeccable Inn. Service and comfort are the best! Plus the location is excellent. The Inn is clean and beautifully maintained. Love it! This was our second stay and we will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic stay in the coach house for new year, We could not fault anything, the place was immaculate and Jonathon and Caroline were really helpful with great knowledge of the local area. We will most certainly be returning soon.

Cedar Manor is well appointed to a very high standard. Clearly a lot of attention has been paid to the details which made our 2 night stay very enjoyable. Very comfortable room and an excellent choice for breakfast. The hotel is very well located for several good restaurants in the village, we’d recommend booking in advance, particularly if you choose one of those rated highly on tripadvisor Caroline and Jonathan are the perfect hosts, very welcoming and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to visit again or to recommend to friends. (If you get the opportunity to purchase some of Caroline’s home produced honey I would thoroughly recommend that to)

Amazing Afternoon Tea What an incredible afternoon tea we had at Cedar manor for our anniversary treat. The welcome we received was special and the attention to detail with the presentation of the afternoon was really lovely . The little starter was a lovely touch along with the beautiful selection of sandwiches and cakes and pastries. We enjoyed the Prosecco deal and thought it was value for money. Thank you so much… a special memory to savour.
