紐黑文小屋酒店(Haven Cottage)

We have just returned from a two night stay at Haven Cottage and it lives up to it's name, a real Haven. Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished throughout. Pubs, restaurants and fabulous walks are just around the corner. Our hosts Amanda and Mark were very kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was exceptional with lots of choice and locally sourced produce beautifully cooked. We would recommend Haven Cottage and hope to return. Neil and Maxine.

Fabulous! Stayed before but it’s just as fabulous as it was. Situated on the edge of Ambleside and beautifully presented throughout with fresh flowers including our room. Super comfy bed- slept so well. The owners take time to chat and make you feel welcome. Amanda is a nutritionist and makes healthy and delicious cakes and biscuits which she leaves out in the afternoons for guests to help themselves. The breakfasts were second to none and the best ingredients bought locally are used. Will definitely return because we thoroughly enjoyed it all. Thank you so much for your excellent hospitality! Lovely restaurants and cafes in the town too. We used Dodds for tasty Italian food and Flying Fleece for pub meals and found a lovely tea room by the pier called Waterhead which has a terrace overlooking the lake and serves delicious home baked cakes

The second time we’ve visited Haven Cottage. Such a lovely place. The hosts are very attentive and took great care ensuring that my wife’s food intolerances were catered for. Very helpful with suggesting suitable walks during our stay. Perfect location for local restaurants and bars. A 5 star B&B 😎

Amanda and Mark are so kind and welcoming, and the breakfast and afternoon cake are absolutely wonderful. Amanda cares about providing the best quality local food, and Mark suggested wonderful local walks. We would love to return again!!!

Another wonderful stay. Amanda and Mark as ever were fantastic hosts and always on hand should you need anything. The room was beautiful, baked treats a delight and the breakfast is the best in the area. We are already looking forward to our next stay in October. Joe and Abi

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Haven Cottage and it is the best b&b we have stayed in, in our 15 years of visiting Ambleside. Mark and Amanda are very welcoming and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast choices and quality of the ingredients are exceptional and the afternoon cakes/cookies baked daily by Amanda are delicious. We stayed in a cosy double room which was spotless and very comfortable with fresh milk left at the bedroom door each morning. Haven Cottage has free parking and is in a fantastic location, only a 5 minute walk from the bars, shops and restaurants of Ambleside. We would 100% recommend Haven Cottage to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Ambleside and we are already planning a return visit next year!

Excellent breakfast. Mark & Amanda were very welcoming & had excellent knowledge of walks/places to visit. We choose the cosy double so used the sitting room for relaxing & having tea & biscuits/cake. The location is great as you can see the fells from the window but also have easy access to Ambleside. We walked up Loughrigg from the cottage.

We stayed at Haven Cottage while having an elopement wedding in Ambleside. The B&B was perfect. Ideal location in the town but very quiet, and with beautiful views of the surrounding area. We stayed in The Balcony Suite which, while it rained too much to enjoy the balcony, was still perfect. We had the bathroom of our dreams with double sinks, large shower and free standing bath. And the bedroom itself had a very comfortable bed and seating area. Haven Cottage offer fixed breakfast times per room but we didn't mind this as our breakfast was made fresh to order and with lovely local produce. Amanda & Mark were also very accommodating of our wedding day arrangements, letting me have my hair & make up stylist work from the room and providing a bottle of 'getting ready fizz'. We'll definitely be back to explore the area a little more- maybe for our first anniversary!

Everything! The room was immaculate, super cozy bed and beautiful decoration. The breakfast was 10/10. The location was perfect to visit other areas from there. Amanda and Mark went above and beyond to make our stay the best possible. They gave us ideas for our daily walks and the best locations to visit. Amanda would bake cookies or a cake every afternoon and my husband and i would sit in the common sitting room with a cup of tea and read a book while having a slice of cake. They realised we liked going there in the evenings and started lighting the fire in the room so we were more cozy and warm. They were the loveliest hosts we have come across! Would 1000% recommend this B&B
