We visited The Mansion to celebrate a family birthday. We had lunch there. The service was just perfect and the food was delicious. The staff went above and beyond to help and catered for GF options. The setting is very pleasant and it is easy to park.

A HUGE thank you. We had a pod last night for a meal following my son’s graduation in Portsmouth. There has been some tough times but he has amazed us. We had never heard of you before but the place is just stunning. We sat in a pod and the service was fab. The girls serving were so helpful and friendly - true credit to you. I would name the girl who served us but didn’t take her name. We were in the first pod on the left at 7pm. The food was absolutely spot on. Great quality, well cooked and delicious. We will certainly come again.

Went for drinks at The Mansion and found plenty of available parking. The terrace area is lovely on a sunny day and every Thursday they have a sax player. The gardens here are really well looked after and the grounds have some well established trees. We enjoyed the sun, lovely surroundings and some excellent sax music which was really relaxing. Drinks are relatively expensive at £9.50 for an Aperol spritz but regardless of this we had a nice time. Didn’t eat but the food being served around us looked good. There are toilets at the rear of The Cabin or inside the hotel, both were clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend and return on. Thursday night.

I booked a table for four. The approach to the 'Mansion' is quite impressive and there were plenty of parking spaces. We were greeted and showed to our table which had a lovely view of the gardens and there were tables outside with Sax Player playing jazz. Overall the atmosphere was excellent. We ordered three fish pie specials and one shepherds pie. The food and puddings were delicious and we had a lovely time there with our friends.

The surroundings are brilliant. Beautiful grounds and layout. Stayed in a family room which had all you could reasonably hope for. Staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. Definitely take note of the instruction to approach via Brook Lane and don't just set the satnav for Coldeast Drive

We recently decided to visit The Mansion, We booked a table for a Thursday evening as they advertise live music with a saxophonist, Which was the main reason for booking this particular restaurant. When we were seated I asked at what time the entertainment would start , to which I was advised there wasn't any this evening as they had a private function in one part with a disco.This was a shame as I said this was the main reason for the choice. Anyway we checked over the menu which isn't huge and certainly not cheap. we all decided to skip a starter and instead have a desert. we therefore all had our main courses which were fine. However after I asked for a menu so that we could choose our deserts, I was told the private party had had all the deserts so there was none on offer. However we could have a cake.... I must admit we were all left rather disappointed by the whole event.No apology or anything..

We booked a pod and despite the weather doing its best to ruin the evening we had a great time. The waiting staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. They were engaging and handled our questions well. The food was very nice, the menu is not vast but that makes it easy to choose quicker. All 5 of us cleared our plates of 3 course. The wine recommendation was very drinkable. Will definitely be going back.

What a missed opportunity. We came for supper and were expecting something special. The decor of the dining room was more in keeping with a seaside cafe than a stately mansion, with plastic looking chairs and tables and not even a tablecloth. The staff were young and friendly and couldn't have done more for us. But the menu is limited and not cheap. I have eaten better for less. Ok for a quick morning coffee but definitely not for a special supper. Disappointing. The lounge looked inviting but I'd had no inclination to stay any longer.

I absolutely love this hotel. From the outset it looks amazing but welcoming as you come down the drive. The staff are friendly, attentive and engaging. The bar and Becketts are well decorated and accommodating. The hotel is being gradually renovated, I’ve stayed in many many rooms with no issues. The renovated rooms are stunning but the others are huge and comfortable. It’s a wonderful place to stay.
