I booked a king standard room and when I arrived I was told that they didn’t have any left and gave me a full-double room. I had to ask about the price difference because I had already paid through the IHG app. The hotel clerk said something like oh yeah it would drop down to X amount. They did not adjust the cost. When I entered my room I noticed it had an adjoining door. That did not make me feel safe. Especially after I read the review about someone entering a hotel room during the night while the guest slept. The room was dingy, the beds squeaked when I sat on them, the rug was stained, and the toilet was dirty. The tub was worn and old and there was a black ring around the drain. I left after 5-10 min inside. I asked for a refund but was told I’d have to speak with someone later. So not only did they not adjust the cost of the hotel after they downgraded me, I was not given a refund either. A case is open but I have not heard from anyone yet.
