Onze droom vakantie ergens in een lodge begon op de eerste dag heel slecht. We zijn daar van louter ellende weggegaan waarna wij terecht zijn gekomen in Stone Town bij Al Johari. Wij zijn heel vriendelijk en warm onthaald door het personeel en de eigenaar Sushant zelf. Omdat wij niet dit hotel geboekt hadden is er van alles aan gedaan om een kamer voor ons te regelen en ons verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Hotel ziet er prachtig uit, en past gewoon in de sfeer van Stone Town. Restaurant zit op het dakterras van waar je een mooi uitzicht op zee hebt en mooie zonsondergangen kunt zien. Ontbijt en diner waren voortreffelijk! Lekker veel fruit bij het ontbijt. Wij zijn ook door Sushant persoonlijk uitgenodigd om samen te lunchen. Hij had zelf een tafel vol met lekkere gerechten klaar gemaakt en hebben wij heerlijk gegeten. Hadden wij wat voor vragen dan ook, werden wij daarmee zo goed mogelijk geholpen door iedereen die daar werkt. Kamers werden iedere dag schoongemaakt. Elke dag ook schone handdoeken en bedden werden ook netjes opgemaakt. Matras ligt prima! Ook hebben we gebruik kunnen van de spa en dan in de vorm van een heerlijke lichaams massage. Wij hebben goede wifi en geen stroom storingen gehad. Voor activiteiten, werd dat in overleg geregeld door de vriendelijke receptioniste Gertrude. Al met al een top vakantie verblijf waar wij graag terug zouden komen! Aanrader!

I didn’t stay at the hotel but went for a massage at the spa with Maryam and I want to highly y recommend her to any women whom want some pampering or just a good massage. Maryam was fantastic. Happy to change pressure as needed, welcoming and a delight in general. The room and atmosphere was Also lovely. Maryam is only massaging women so I feel Should be supported in her endeavors.

Amazing hotel with extremely friendly staff wonderful owner and management, excellent breakfast and restaurant area is breathtaking. I even extended my stay with them and they were very adaptable and accommodating to any of our needs. Must give it a try specially the breakfast in the restaurants early morning. Also enjoyed exploring different areas in the hotel like a campus area with beautiful statues of animals or decorative framed items.

We only spent one night at this hotel as a station for our next destination in Zanzibar. We arrived late at night and the check in was very fast and the guy assisted us with luggage. We were also allowed late check out till 12, as the normal check out was 10 in the morning, so very early especially for us that could only have a few hours of sleep. Although the hotel is decorated nicely, everything in it is so old. Very far from the photos. The room is so small you can barely pass at the edge of the bed to go to the other part of the room. There were lots of mosquitos in the room. The bed is big but looked like the sheets weren't so clean. There is an aroma dispenser in the room (probably to cover the smell of an old building) which makes a terrible sound frequently. As a result I could not sleep for even a minute. Just happy to see kids sleeping. Breakfast served was tasty but very tiny portions, even for my low appetite kids. But the girls serving were so polite and nice. Considering this is a third county and the hotel condition, the price of 95$ a night is so very overpriced. It didn't even deserve 35$. Looks like in Zanzibar they work with the philosophy "let us rip you off this time because probably you will not come ever again". Even the visa fee upon arrival tells the same, and for a family of 4 it's quite expensive to pay 200$ only for visa, especially in a country where government does no investment ( leaving bad roads, bad electricity, bad tap water supply ).

Beautiful and comfortable place to stay. Close to many attractions. Loved the ambiance, staff were very friendly. Would definitely come back for future stays. Rooftop restaurant is great for having meals while looking at the sea.

The restaurant at the top floor is the winner. Excellent hospitality, very friendly staff and great food. The rooms have a typical zanzibari ambience. Had a chat with the owner who happens to be very friendly. He said he is planning for further renovations to make a few rooms more comfortable The washrooms have both a morden and a vintage safari kind of look Over all a pleasant experience

Struttura dell 'hotel molto bella ma decadente. Camere piuttosto sporchine . Vicino all'hoy ci sono locali che fanno musica ad lato volume fino alle 3 del mattino, impossibile dormire. Lo staff però è molto gentile e la terrazza dove si fa colazione molto piacevole.

The behaviour of the hotel staff was really good. They were very cooperative. The ambience was also really good. . The breakfast was good, the location as well - it is near to the beach. Thanks to all Al Johari staffs.

The new manager's (Mr. Sushanta) empathetic treatment is exceptional to a point of creating a home feeling...He is really friendly & generous. A person who makes a guest feel great desire to over stay...

An excellent atmosphere and a feel of Zanzibar Stone Town coming from the Stuff and service that was provided. The rooms were clean and worth it. Thank you very much Johari Team for taking care of us. We will definitely see you all soon. We are in love with Zanzibar and you are the reason.
