Very friendly on phone although never seen the owner. There was no warm water and I felt cold overnight. Good location though but wouldn’t stay for any more than an overnight

A bit low rent and tired But this is most probably why it is a low cost. Had to ask for the reheating to be turned on and the beds were a bit tired.

Run down room...make that rabbit hutch. Mattresses way past their sell by date and pillows so hard that you may as well try sleeping on a housebrick. The room varied wildly from freezing cold to unbearably hot. No sleep to be had. They say you get what you pay for, but I've stayed in premier inns for the same amount and got breakfast thrown in.

Pictures very deceiving. Very out dated and tired. Friendly enough guy checked us in, gave advice about the area. If the nighly charge would be halved it would be about right.

Quirky decor, chalet style accommodation, good facilities, attention to detail, really and I mean really comfy beds, very reasonable price. If in Stranraer would be a priority to book there without a doubt.

It is in a rundown area , and the road and pavements are very dirty, although the owner of the property was very kind and helpful.

Lovely owner Sandy, very helpful, near town and ferry port just what we needed

I was greeted with friendliness and helpfulness by the two people who care for the property. The town was much larger than I first imagined and am glad I stayed a second night so that I could wander the town on my second day.

Stayed here prior to catching the ferry to Larne. At £55 Room only for the night I challenge anyone to find better value. Friendly welcome, easy parking, chalet style room was very clean and well equipped. I would make an observation that the bathroom is small but again is very clean. This property met all of our requirements .

This little place was a joy to stay at. It’s tucked away in a little corner in the middle of town. As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed by the owner Sandy who was a gentleman. Very welcoming and hospitable. Yes the room is basic but I have to say it was immaculately clean, warm and cosy. Has everything you need. Kettle with Tea and Coffee and even bottled water and a little pack of tissues. I normally stay at The PortPatrick Hotel a few miles along the road when I’m in the area which is apparently quite posh lol but from now on I reckon I’ll be booking back into The Thistle. Thank you Sandy for making me feel so welcome. Important when a person is travelling alone. I will see you again for sure.
