湖景賓館(Lakeview Guest House)

Cannot praise Lakeview Guest House enough! Very warm welcome from Alan who showed us to our room, or should I say apartment, we booked the Delux room (room number 5) and had zero idea that we would have a whole floor to ourselves! When we reached the top floor we were greeted with an amazing room which had a double bed for us and single bed for our 4 year old, the window looked out towards Loch Ryan and had very little street noise, even with the window open (I'm very surprised as it was Easter Sunday/Monday and there was a tractor run on) then Alan brought us out into the hall to show us our very own sitting room which had a sofa, a tub chair, a fridge stocked with water & milk, a smart TV, a decanter with whiskey and 2 upside down crystal glasses with chocolate mints on top of them, there were biscuits and an area to make hot beverages (sachets & teabags included) and even a fan which was a godsend to me as I usually sleep with one! There was a sky light window in the sitting room which I can imagine on a clear night would have a lovely view of the stars! We also had a lovely bathroom with a toilet and very spacious shower, each of these rooms had a sink aswell! - so yeah, a whole floor to ourselves, truly felt like a home from home. The decor was lovely, I especially love the colour of the building as you can see in my photo, the tartan carpet in the halls and stairs helped make it feel like home as we also have tartan carpet in our hall! All the little touches like a box of tissues, a vase of flowers, towels, robes etc it was EXCELLENT value for money Now onto the breakfast which was made & served by Elaine, couldn't fault it one bit and we made sure to eat it all up, I was full halfway through but it was amazing so I couldn't stop myself! I've went on about how amazing the tea was all day to my husband hahaha! Will 1 million percent stay here again! Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the amazing stay !

Always stay here, great location for ferries to Ireland, approx 10 mins drive. Overlooking Loch Ryan, handy for restaurants, walks, small harbour. Very comfortable rooms, TV, coffee/tea, en suite, great choice for breakfast.

This is a lovely guesthouse. The room was immaculately clean and the bed really comfortable. It was a one night stay prior to taking the ferry in the morning so we did not have breakfast prior due to the early sail. However, we were offered the chance to help ourselves to cereals if we wished. One nice touch was the wee dram of whisky left by mine host in the room. I would definitely stay there again.

I had a Superb little single room which had a lovely en suite and a very comfortable bed .There was a warm friendly welcome from Elaine and plenty of parking over the road , I will definitely be coming back on my next trip here .

Lovely B&B the owners were very nice checking was easy and the room was lovely, bed was very comfortable, fresh towels, shower gel, tea & coffee and some biscuits. Breakfast was lovely and a great big pot of coffee. Stayed for 2 nights would defo book again

Overnight stay prior to sailing to Ireland. Alan, our host was very friendly. Showed us to our room and explained everything we needed to know. Room very comfortable. Breakfast next morning was 5 star.

We chose this bed and breakfast for an overnight stay before catching the midday ferry to Ireland the next day. We found our room to be both comfortable and relaxing and for Elaine’s hospitality to be at the pinnacle of her profession. In fact the next time we go to Ireland we plan to spend more time at Lakeview and definitely try the haggis option on their breakfast menu,

My wife and I stayed here for just the 1 night before catching the ferry to Belfast the following morning from Cairnryan, just a short drive away. Throughout, Elaine could not have been more helpful. We arrived late and she was on hand to check us in straight away. We were on the top floor and we had a lovely little lounge area accompanying our room. Elaine was also great for giving us recommendations on where to eat that night and also things to do once we arrived in Belfast. Breakfast in the morning was of a excellent standard. If we’re ever around Stranraer or Dumfries again this will be the first place we’d look to stay.

If you have to overnight in the vicinity of the Cairnryan ferries, you couldn't do much better. Lakeview is clean, comfortable and well situated. The breakfast is up to standard. I'd like to have stayed longer
