皮耶蒙特休閑酒店(Piermont Retreat)

We revisited Piermont Retreat after not being there since July 2009. Not much has changed apart from some new villa units being built on the small bay side. The honeymoon suite we had was rustic and probably in need of some small repairs but that's what makes Piermont so interesting and far better value than the Freycinet resort across Coles Bay. The views are fantastic from Piermont retreat across to the Hazards, the only down side is the longish drive to Coles bay to do the Wineglass bay walk but there are wineries on the way. Roads in Tasmania especially on the East coast are narrow and not in good condition. Dinner at Piermont Retreat was excellent with about 5 courses which was plentiful and tasty. Very good local wines as well. We also ate at the Waterloo Motel in Swansea.....don't be fooled by the exterior of the crappy motel as the food and service was great. The hosts Alex & her partner are excellent and a lot of fun.

I had booked Piermont with much anticipation on the back of a word of mouth recommendation . This was to be our final resting place after a fabulous driving holiday in Tassie . Upon arrival - we were accommodated in ***** 3 - I had booked 2 bedrooms . The apartment was certainly new - but not particularly clean with dust in the corners. However , my overall impression was the kitchen lacked forethought - there was no microwave for example. The stairs to the second bedroom are ridiculously steep - making suitcase access quite challenging . The meal at Homestead Restaurant the first night was enjoyable but the main course was luke warm - and a second meal two nights later revealed almost the same dishes on the tasting menu .. The cost at the restaurant and the tariff for the accomodation is top drawer and quite frankly do not measure up. We also found the attitude of some staff members to be abrasive . It seems to me there is a disconnect between what this resort attempts to be and what it actually is. There are so many fabulous accomodation options in Tassie - this is not one of them

The Piermont is a quiet haven not far from Freycinet. A great retreat for relaxing on a trip down the East Coast of Tasmania. The rooms were light, cozy and well appointed, with a nice view of the bay. Homestead restaurant on the property has a chef's tasting menu that is a culinary masterwork. Well exceeded our expectations.

What a place! From the moment you arrive until you leave, you feel in heaven! The staff was amazing and we had a great time.We loved the place and the decoration, the view is unique and they treated us better than at the Ritz in Paris. You can do different outdoor activities. Excellent!

Piermont Retreat is a well-run resort along the east coast. Get one of the new villas - Pampa Costa or Luna. We stayed in Luna 3 and it was pretty. Because it was just two of us in the villa; the closed off the two rooms on the top floor which made it inconvenient each time we wanted to go to the bathroom which is on the ground floor. Would have been better if they left the bathroom open on the first floor too. The resort is well located - close to the wineries and a 5 min drive to Swansea, a small town with a few nice eateries and an IGA.

This has to be one of the most beautiful places I have every stayed: awesome. We had an old-style cottage looking out over the sea, where I could happily have lived for longer! Gorgeous rooms and just enough facilities to cater for yourself from great local produce (including a hotel larder). Breakfast items provided would just about see you across two mornings. It's a real privilege to stay here and enjoy the facilities, including walking on the private beach with no one else for miles. The welcome - after a stressful drive! - was exceptional. The Homestead restaurant is equally brilliant where G and P (and team) ensured that we had two fantastic evenings of food and wine. They were effortlessly hospitable and made each evening a joy. Congrats to the chef(s) for two wonderful meals. Book for dinner as Swansea options are limited.

We stayed in a one bedroom beachfront cottage - perfect for two and with amazing views. Good supply of provisions for our first breakfast and you can get really good expresso coffee at reception from 8-30 am on! Very relaxing and quiet - couple of kms to Swansea and about 55 minutes to Freycinet. Lots of vineyards on the way to Freycinet. We would not hesitate to go back.

The important thing to know about Piermont is that it is NOT a resort. It is in a beautiful location about a two-hour drive from Hobart. We stayed in a suite that was serene, designed with neutral, natural furnishings. There is no air conditioning, so the room heated up during the day (in summer). There is a pool, but scarcely any lounge chairs and no umbrellas. The beach is accessible, and quite secluded. Great hikes are nearby in Freycinet National Park, about a 45 minute drive from the Retreat. We had lunch in the restaurant. The menu is not extensive and portions were small. On the whole, I would recommend Piermont for a quiet 2-3 day getaway during the warm weather months.

I reviewed the restaurant where we had lunch. Unfortunately Tripadvisor wont let me review the dinner. The Dinner is a set price 3 course menu for $115. Total rip off. While the food was well presented and edible, $115!!!??? No thanks. The best was the Tiramisu desert. And the waitress fro Canada was great!!!!!
