梅瑞迪斯酒店(Meredith House)

Stayed 1 night on the first day of our Tasmanian holiday. Great hosts, beautiful rooms (port was a very nice touch), delicious breakfast and we even got to take a couple of muffins with us for morning tea! Full of character and welcoming atmosphere so would highly recommend.

Fabulous. Gorgeous period home .. Newer units next door. Lovely hosts and their dogs. Breakfast was amazing. Lots of good recommendations for things to see and do in the area. Would definitely stay next time we pass through. Highly recommended.

Noel and Neal were great hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and warm. Breakfast was amazing with muffins, croissants and bread, then they asked what we would like to order as well for a hot breakfast. Whatever we didn't eat they then wrapped to take with us for the day. Good place to stay.

A lovely old house with many period features. A comfortable room with all amenities you could need. Centrally located close to everything. The hosts were lovely and gave us heaps of local insights. Would recommend this accommodation for a one or two night stay at most.

Noel and Neil are great hosts, the rooms filled with eclectic charm and the whole ambiance of the listed house is wonderfull. The two dogs that rule the house are totally charming and Dougall spends his life getting in trouble for looking for pats and scraps. Special mention goes to the breakfast. It is some of the best cooking ….. hands down…. That I have experienced. Noel should go on Master Chef as he would win it. The lads are great to chat with and nothing is too much trouble for them.. I cannot imagine how you would find fault with this place and what it offers. If you do then it says more about you than the amazing experience you will share in this home. We are planning a return to base out of this place to better explore the area and Maria island.

This was our 2nd stay at Meredith House. Last visit was 10 years ago and it's still just as good. Stayed in the Mews and they have everything you could need. The breakfast is absolutely the best we've ever had in a B and B. Thank you Neal and Noel for a great stay, we loved it!

Had the pleasure of booking here by chance having found myself in Swansea (last minute) on business. The building is stunning, location perfect and the hosts are to me, what a B&B truely means. You’re made to feel like a VIP but not in a pretentious way, simply welcomed as a weary traveller. My room Room 2 , was clean/comfy bed and having stayed in countless accomodation, I can honestly say having complimentary port in the room is one of those touches that make this a stand out. Quirky but individual and yes I had a glass! The hosts are personable and really value your business and the lady who served breakfast could not do enough for you. It’s a short walk to town so stagger back with ease. I liked it so much that when I get the opportunity to take my wife to Tassie we will stay here without question. The breakfast itself was sumptuous! Variety of juices, cereals and hot food! Unbelievable… truely. I had to read some of the few negative reviews as I couldn’t understand how anybody would not want to stay here ? ‘Outdated decor ‘ !!!!! …..please. To the educated, this means a house built in the mid 1800’s is periodic. It’s got so many great architectural features. Do not believe any poor cleanliness comments… the whole place is spotless. Should you have any concerns Noel and Neal would go out of their way to make your stay pleasant, I am sure of it. Thank you both Gents for a short but really great stay. As a Pom it reminded me a lot of the B&B’s back in Blighty. See you in the near future !

What a place- the room was tremendous like stepping back in time but ultra comfortable. A great location and we had fantastic views out our windows. The sitting rooms were great but breakfast is amazing. An extensive menu put together by Noel was out of this world. The pasties and croissants were brilliant. We stayed two nights and it wasn’t enough so we will be back.

A period house (circa 1850's) which is quite charming with its eclectic decorations. The room was comfortable and contained everything you would need as well as a decanter of port. A bonus was the home made muffins you received on arrival. Breakfast was stunning. Quite the best I have tasted in years of travelling over every continent (except Antartica). Even provided us with a doggie bag for the left over bakery products (all home made and superb). Highly recommended and we will try and go back there in the not too distant future.
