JJennifer (Jenna) ClarkeThis hotel is a pleasant 1 hour and 45 minute drive from Vientiane. The room was comfortable with a lovely view of the forest. The staff were friendly but not many speak English which is totally OK. The resort makes sure it employs local people from the area which I respect whole heartedly. Fortunately there was a lovely and attentive staff member called Bounthone who ensured I got everything I needed and helped me interpret. I left him a tip to show my appreciation. The manager Mr Xay was friendly and willing to assist when needed.
When I first arrived it was the last day of Pi Mai ( Laos New Year) so it was extremely busy with guests coming up for day trips. The day after was quiet and peaceful.
This time of year is dry season. I was disappointed that there was no water in the river and the waterfall as I was looking forward to a fresh water swim! I recommend a visit in the rainy season!
It was a comfortable stay. The food was okay. I will return when there is water in the river.
訪訪客So central to everything it was great. The staff have a mixture of average to excellent English, and are more than happy to help you with anything you need. I couldn't organise the train to Vang Vienna because apparently I didn't leave enough time, but Ardent had me sorted. He even did it for me while I was out having dinner. There is a nice pool area (although a bit more shade up there would be nice). The garden setting is lovely, and they provide a complimentary breakfast, although I only had it once and decided to eat elsewhere the rest of the time. I know mosquitos aren't their fault, but I find it funny that I didn't have any mozzies in my room up in the hills of Luang Prabang, out at Phonsavan or even at Vang Vienna, yet here my room was filled with the little annoying buzzies.
