Wat was het fijn en gezellig bij Mohua Motels in Takaka! We hadden een nette en fijne kamer, een keukentje met alles erop en eraan en een heerlijke douche, maar wat we het meest gewaardeerd hebben was de gastvrijheid van Nirmal en Kathrin en hun kinderen. Ze hebben het motel net overgenomen en runnen het met zoveel enthousiasme en plezier; wat een lieve en leuke mensen! Nirmal gaf ons goede tips om de omgeving te ontdekken. We hadden graag langer willen blijven en komen een volgende keer in NZ zeker terug!

Die Appartments sind modern, sehr sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht auch zum Selberkochen. Die beiden Hosts führen dieses Hotel aus Herzblut und man fühlt sich bei den beiden sofort wohl und willkommen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

This motel is well situated at the start of the main street, offering easy access without the feel of being surrounded, not that Takaka is big enough to give you that feel! The neighbours are cattle, offering peaceful mooing at times during the night. We loved that. Clean, well equipped. I'd simply go back there without checking options.

The motel complex had everything we needed including great laundry facilities. The reason we booked this motel initially was that it had Sky tv being rugby enthusiasts & the All Blacks were playing one evening. Wouldn't book anywhere else now, great location to shops and restaurant for dinner.

Mohua Motel was a great place to relax after a couple of busy days exploring Golden Bay. Very clean, comfortable beds, an easy place to stay. The TV's on the wall in the lounge and bedrooms were too small to see from the couch/bed and the fan in the bathroom was not effective. However, great overall service.

Excellent service from the Mohua staff. Quiet place, spacious and clean rooms, confortable beds and beautiful views from the rooms. Definitelly well recommended. It is well located at the outskirts of town and a convenient supermarket and turist office a few meters away.

The Shower had awesome pressure, and it was very clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff were very pleasent to deal with and nothing was an issue. Would highly reccomend this as an accommodation option

We were welcomed to this motel by the new owners - Nirmal and Katrin. Lovely people who couldn’t do enough to ensure we made the most of our 3-night stay here. From ensuring we had basic necessities, to advising on local places to visit or booking tables at local restaurants. The motel is ideally located for visiting various attractions in the area and the room/motel was kept exceptionally clean. Well worth considering if you are going to be staying in the area. We had a room with a bath/spa which came in handy after longer walks. There is ample parking on the premises.

The Mohua Motels team understand the complete customer experience. My positive experience started with the check-in. Nirmul and Catherine (I hope I spelled their names correctly) worked to ensure I had the quiet room I requested. Next, there was a last check before I entered the room to ensure it met the motel standards. Then there was the offer to help me with my bags. How many motels does that happen at? The room was spotless, everything was up to date, a firm mattress and even an ethernet cable. I loved the plunger coffee, the bottle of fresh milk and the hot chocolate. I was treated like a family member - the kind of family that is totally helpful without being intrusive. The motel is just a short walk from a large FreshChoice supermarket and multiple very good restaurants. Tip for ice cream lovers - try the ice cream at Golden Fresh Fruit Ice Cream on the main road! Highly recommend this motel for others. You deserve this type of attention and standards while traveling. Added bonus was the lovely sunset I witnessed from the motel's courtyard!

Great motel, good comfy beds, extremely clean, good location - lovely couple running it! Excellent choice in Takada 2 min walk to Main Street. Well equipped kitchen with tea and coffee making facilities, spacious well appointed rooms in excellent condition.

We were very warmly welcomed with the owners going out of their way to make sure everything was fine. Well appointed rooms. Very clean and comfortable. Easy walk to town. Very central if you are looking at exploring Golden Bay and areas close by.

Luxurious beds, Clean, Powerful Showers. A good quality motel. Great location, it was nice to be 2 minutes from town. Super freindly and accommodating managers. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Enjoyed staying at Mohua motels. Everything from greetings, check in and the room was perfect. The staff are amazing - very friendly, and go out of their way to make sure the rooms are of high quality and to make you feel welcome. The rooms are spotless, there is a good sized bathroom with good quality toilettries, and the bed is comfortable. The room I booked had a kitcehnette (2 ring hob and microwave) - useful if you fancy a simple meal in. There is plenty of easy parking outside the rooms. I did notice there is a guest laundry room, but I didn't need to use it. The motel is conveniently located at one end of the town - easy for evening dining out. Really enjoyed the stay, and would book again without hesitating.
