-We were given a room with two beds, but they were full mattresses, not queen. My husband and I are not large people, but it was still very uncomfortable to fit two adults in a single bed. For reference we are both under 200lbs and under 6ft tall, so very average.
-Housekeeping only comes if you ask for it. I understand this policy and agree that it makes sense, but most hotels simply ask you to let them know the day of. Hotel Alba makes you tell them 24 hours in advance, which is unreasonable, in my opinion. We were there for four nights. On the 2nd morning, I went down to the front desk and said we would be gone all day (until after midnight actually), so could we please get our room refreshed. I was told no, because it was not 24 hours notice.
-The in-hotel restaurant is supposed to be open until 10pm. We went down at 8:45 on Friday to get dinner. A woman who I recognized from the front desk happened to be standing there. I asked her if we were early enough for food and she confirmed that we were. After we were seated with menus, the waitress came over to tell us she was closed. We told her that the front desk had said they were open for another hour, but she said "No, I'm allowed to close up to an hour early, so I did". She told us to go to the hotel bar and order there. The bar tender seemed equally confused by our story. The waitress then came behind the bar and chatted with another patron for most of the time we sat there. It was embarrassing and awkward.
