可可椰子別墅小屋(Coco Palm Villa and Cabanas)

The accommodation is very clean and comfortable, the bathroom was great and also the shower had warm or cool options. Our room however was located on the ground floor and had no privacy at all from people drinking and eating in the restaurant outside, meaning we had to draw the curtain at all times- not so good if you are claustrophobic. The ‘private beach’ also does not exist. TRAVELLERS BEWARE It needs to be mentioned however that travellers should beware of the local fisherman on the beach, they need help with pulling in the fishing nets which was a genuinely great experience to be part of and we loved giving them a hand. The downside is a fisherman then offered to cook us fish dinner at his house in exchange for our work, we accepted his invitation as we saw it as an act of kindness. Unfortunately after dinner he then pestered us for huge sums of money and we felt very scared and threatened as the situation became potentially dangerous. Fearing for our safety, we left the area the next day as it became obvious that this particular fisherman uses tourists in this way, it was apparent that locals were aware of this but the hotel didn’t mention any warning to us. A very sad end to our short stay in Mediketiya.
