Die Einrichtung und die Umgebung des Hotels sind schön. Das Personal ist zwar nett, aber nicht übermässig kompetent und wirkt stellenweise überfordert. Das ist aber nicht der Grund der schlechten Rezension, sondern: Nach dem Verzehr des Pilzgerichts haben alle 3 Reisenden unserer Gruppe eine Nacht schlaflos mit schwersten Magen/Darmbeschwerden eher beim WC als im Bett verbracht. Wir mussten unsere Reise unterbrechen und uns einen Tag und eine weitere zusätzliche Nacht im Hotel auskurieren und waren auch dann noch sehr schwach und mitgenommen. Wir haben die Hotelleitung höflich über diesen Umstand auch schriftlich in Kenntnis gesetzt. Lange erfolgte gar keine Reaktion und dann nach Nachfrage eine ausweichende Antwort, es müsse sich wohl um eine Allergie handeln. Das ist aber 100% nicht der Fall. Niemand von uns hat irgendwelche Allergien. Alle 3 Personen haben an diesem Tag unterschiedliche Dinge gegessen - das einizge Gericht, das alle gegessen haben, war dieses Pilzgericht.

If I could have rated it lower I would have. I booked a two night break for my wife and myself through Buyagift, to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately my wife became very unwell and needed to undergo tests at the hospital. I contacted the hotel 6 days before the date of our reservation, to explain the situation and request a change of dates. I was informed that my booking would be cancelled and I would not be entitled to a refund. I contacted the hotel again but to no avail. If only I had read the reviews of this hotel on TripAdvisor before I chose to book. The management treat people with contempt and as far as I am concerned, are nothing but money grabbers . Hospitality, they don't know the meaning of it. Shame on you

A very successful 90th birthday celebration for 23 family members spanning 4 generations. The afternoon tea was delicious and attractively presented. Many thanks to Jo for taking the time to plan this with us: it turned out just as we had hoped. We also enjoyed the breakfasts and appreciated the attentive service of the serving staff. The hotel is charming and the rooms were comfortable and well equipped. Public areas and bedrooms were spotless and well maintained. The gardens are attractive and there was plenty of space for the children to run and play. For those who prefer to spend their time less energetically there are lots of places to sit and enjoy the surroundings.
