Hillside Resort Telavi

Dit is niet het beste hotel van Georgie. De dame aan het onthaal was vriendelijk. De man aan de bar kijkt niet op. Zijn koelkast is leeg en wordt niet aangevuld. Het restaurant alsook de bar waren leeg. Voor het zwembad moet je extra betalen. Dit is een afspraak. We hadden drie kamers. De matrassen, lattenbodems waren aan vernieuwing toe. Er was geen warm water. Het hotel heeft waarschijnlijk betere tijden gekend.

Not to be confused with the upscale Zuzumbo Resort and Spa not far away, the Zuzumbo Hotel is a modest place located near the university but rather far from the town center. It began life as a much smaller, rustic hotel with lots of exposed wood, stone and a homey character – features still evident in the rather cute restaurant, lobby, and lounge areas. It has recently been expanded and at the time we were there in mid-May, ‘22, work was still going on – to the point that I don’t think the facility was really ready for our small tour group of 14. Our room, for example, (224) wasn’t yet fully furnished and lacked a number of amenities, including lamps on the night stands, hangers in the open closet, and extra towels. It was adequate in size, and had a small balcony – unfortunately with an unappealing view of a vacant lot. The wifi signal in our room was so weak we had to walk down the hall in order to access the internet. The bathroom was nicely tiled with a corner shower. There was no place to store toiletries. The dinner and breakfast buffets were ok, but we had the impression they had been hurriedly put together without much concern for appeal or variety. In short, we can’t give the Zuzumbo Hotel a strong recommendation, other than it seems to be very affordable. Also, when the recent upgrades are in place and the staff is fully functioning, it is likely to be a much more welcoming and comfortable option for Telavi.

Not sure why this hotel has the same name with a resort and spa 2 minutes drive past this hotel. Many reviewers seem to also be confused. This property seems like it has just begun some sort of renovations. Drilling and hammering went on during the day. Staff were totally unprepared for our visit. No elevators, no porters, no wifi, no water in rooms. Rooms all had various amenities and no two rooms had the same items. Restaurant food very disappointing. For Georgia you will eat better almost anywhere else. Sure one the daughters speaks English and they tried very hard to accommodate us but really they need to set up much better than this. Stay elsewhere

The Wi-Fi is poor. Rooms are very small. Beds are very small. No tv’s in most rooms, other rooms tv did no work. Adequate hot water in shower, but no shower soap provided. No hair dryer It appears that the place is under renovation. The air conditioner is not hooked up. No elevator The buffet dinner was horrible, food was cold, meat was tough. If you want a cheap, clean place with no amenities this is the place for you

Very rude stuff and not clean at all. Breakfast is poor . This hotel has same name as another ZUzumbo spa that's how they .ake confusion of the guests. My experience was very bad in overall unfortunately
