火山之家酒店(Volcano House)

１２月２３日から2泊しました。昼間、ディナーの時間はレストラン利用で客が多勢いましたが、部屋は静かでした。エントランスのリビングの暖炉の前のリクライニングチェアーでウェルカムドリンク&クッキーをいただきました。とても雰囲気が良く暖かいです。モーニングビュッフェは宿泊者は18ドルで食べられます。　 オーダーして作ってくれるオムレツ、ワッフル、フレッシュフルーツ、そしてコーヒー。 キラウエア火山を目の前に頂く朝食は素晴らしいです。今回3度目の宿泊ですが、また泊まりたいと思えるホテルです。

We had a nice 2-night stay at the Volcano House in June 2023. The place is nice,mostly a 1940s building replacing the prior hotel which was destroyed in a fire, plus a slightly later addition. It is not grand but it is very nice. The room was comfortable. We had a superior volcano view room with king bed and sofa bed. The latter was actually very comfortable. We had a pretty good view of Kilauea but some trees partly blocked it. The hotel itself is looking right over the Kilauea crater and the Crater Rim trail goes right by the back of the hotel, through the steam vents, all the way to the Kilauea overlook. We walked there and back from the hotel. Food at the dining room, both breakfast and dinner, was very good and we had nice views when the mist cleared. Service was good and friendly. The bar had pretty good cocktails. The lobby area was nice. However, it could get crowded by hordes of people staying elsewhere and coming to eat, especially in the evening. Most just wanted to eat at the bar area. We made reservations for the actual dining room and in the morning and layer at night the crowds are absent. The main reason to stay here, though is that this is a unique place to stay right near the rim of the Kilauea crater and is an iconic National Park hotel. It naturally gets extra points for that and was definitely worth it.

We loved staying at the Volcano House. If visiting the volcano, some people visit as a day trip from other locations. I have now been several times, and the best choice is to stay here. Spend more time exploring the area for nature leaves so much to see and experience. I am uncertain if I would pay the additional fee for the crater view. It is a smallish window and honestly, I want to spend as much time outside as possible. The hotel is a park hotel which I think adds to its charm. The staff are super. The location is superlative. This is where one wants to stay. We loved it here.

We stayed 4 nights. Perfect location. You can walk the trails from the lodge. Great food at the restaurants. Down sides no tv, no air conditioning, no mini frig. We stayed on the fist floor which was a big mistake. You could hear people stomping on the floor above u constantly. We were woke up at 1am, 330am and 6am. Our sleep was bad the entire time. Overall it's the best place to stay that I seen around here

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Rooms are in a very sorry state, dirty with furniture that should have been thrown out years ago. Leather? or faux leather sofas that look like they have been scatched to death by a pack of wild cats. Stained bed linen, stained mattress, pillows etc. Filthy and mouldy windows and frames and enough cobwebs to be able to knit yourself a blanket. We asked to move to another room BUT when we looked at the other room it was in a worst state than the one we were in! Food was mediocre to bad. We cut short a planned three day stay at the hotel by checking out the following morning. The one and only good aspect of the hotel was that it looked out onto the volcano cater. When we returned to the UK we complained to our travel agents and subsequently had our entire cost for the three day Volcano House Hotel stay refunded.

Great location inside the park. restaurants were convenient good. staff was friendly. One word of caution, no elevators to the second floor, and no bellhop for this old guy. the trade off to carry the overpacked upstairs was worth it to be on the second floor. the rooms are a bit dated, but you could tell they were making some efforts. highly recommend breakfast value
