Aloha Junction客棧(Aloha Junction Guest House - 5 Min from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park)

Nous avons passé 2 nuits à mi-octobre dans ce B&B après l'avoir réservé en rapport avec sa situation géographique proche du Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Nous avons trouvé l'endroit relativement facilement même en l'absence d'éclairage adéquat. Le fait d'avoir séjourné déjà une fois à proximité a certainement été un avantage pour se rendre sur place. A l'arrivée, aucune indication claire a permis de trouver la chambre réservée. Nous avons emprunté l'entrée principale pour déboucher dans un couloir sans éclairage et finalement dans une pièce manifestement en réfection. Point de chambre à l'horizon. Nous l'avons finalement trouvée en empruntant un escalier à l'opposé de l'entrée principale. La chambre était spacieuse et propre ; bémol toutefois pour les draps en synthétique. Les WC/douches relèvent de la plaisanterie. C'est minuscule et sans évier. Le seul évier disponible est celui de la kitchenette de la chambre. Pas de trace des propriétaires le jour de l'arrivée ni d'ailleurs le lendemain. Les instructions reçues mentionnent une période de tranquillité qui s'étend de 21h00 à 08h00 le matin ce qui n'a pas empêché nos voisins de nous réveiller à 4 heures du matin vraisemblablement pour une excursion 'lever du soleil'. Nous avons pu apprécier à ce moment la finesse des parois ! En rentrant le lendemain en fin d'après-midi, nous avons été accueillis par un molosse de type pitbull qui se promenait en toute liberté autour de la propriété. Il s'agit probablement du chien du propriétaire qui n'était en rien tenu en laisse ni rappelé par ce dernier qui farfouillait dans une remise sans daigner nous apercevoir et encore moins prendre contact. J'ai compris en voyant ce chien l'état délabré d'un arrosoir en plastic aperçu le matin dans le jardin. C'était le jouet du chien en question qui donnait un aperçu assez saisissant de la force des mâchoires de ce molosse. Nous avons trouvé ce comportement particulièrement irresponsable de la part du propriétaire. Comme toujours dans ces cas, le chien n'est pas le problème mais son et ses propriétaires. Les autres revues mentionnent un petit déjeuner dont nous n'avons pas vu la couleur et qui n'est pas mentionné dans la confirmation de la réservation. Comme indiqué plus haut, nous avions déjà séjourné dans la région et nous avons trouvé le même désintérêt de la part des exploitants. Seuls vos dollars les intéressent. House oui, gest à voir. Le problème est que les autres établissements similaires offrent le même service déficient. Le village de Volcano dispose de quelques maigres établissements tous plus ou moins fermés lors de notre passage. Le propriétaire se contente de mentionner qu'il faut prévoir de prendre ses repas avec soi dans la mesure où les restaurants pourraient être fermés. Un euphémisme ! Dans l'ensemble, le bâtiment semble avoir été construit et transformé par briques et morceaux par des personnes qui ne sont à l'évidence pas des professionnels de la construction. Good location and clean. Looked like they are new owners and our room was just finished.could hear guest next door , needs to insulate doors and would like to have some spoons and glasses to drink from.

The B&B was lovely, a historic building but well updated with surrounding garden with flowers and fruit trees. The room was very comfortable for a family of 4 and well appointed with snacks and other necessities. There was a private entrance or could go through the house. The location couldn’t be beat, just 5 minutes from Volcano National Park. Robert the host was very kind and accommodating with fruit and yogurt when we had planned to do a sunrise hike and miss breakfast. However, as there was no lava at the time we started later and enjoyed the breakfast. It was delicious and nice to visit with the other guests.

The location of Aloha Junction is great -- peaceful surroundings and just outside Volcano Park. But it was downhill from there: The owner Robert was cold, seemingly more so to guests of color. Breakfast was mediocre and the Reddi-whip supplier with the microwaved pancakes had visible mold on the nozzle. And to top it off, on our first morning there the bottom of our toilet came loose and dirty water leaked all over the floor (Garden Suite). Robert was unapologetic but he did fix it by evening. A very disgusting experience. We will be avoiding this establishment on future visits to the area.

The B&B was intimate, welcoming, and homey. A quick 5 minutes from Volcano National Park makes it a perfect stay before/after some exploring! While we only stayed one night and it was a bit chilly, the house has everything you need: good wifi, parking, toiletries, etc. and a great host! Robert explained everything and shared a bit of the history of the house; he also showed us around and we were delighted to enjoy his breakfast the next morning. He mentioned that the house was scheduled to undergo renovation soon, and while it’s not eminent that it happens, I’m sure the next guests would greatly enjoy it! For our family that stayed near the back of the house, the farm has chickens and a rooster that may be a bit confused and passionate about when the sun rises ^_^” Another thing that may be a bit odd to mention: the shower area is spacious and nicely appointed, but the shower curtain wasn’t long enough to keep the splashed/sprinkle of water in the shower basin… otherwise, there’s really nothing negative about this experience, especially once the renovation is finished I’m sure Aloha Junction will be even more amazing!

Pros: rooms were clean, comfortable beds, hot water, common kitchen available for use ( could use some TLC), there was hot choc, coffee available, plenty to eat at breakfast ( yogurt, cereal, boiled eggs, cereal, pancakes and sausage) Cons: freezing cold! The area is much cooler than other parts of the island so bring warm clothes!! The B&B was freezing as the main door is left open 24hrs. When we arrived they had no record of our stay. Then we were over charged and had to sort that out. As a result we had to move rooms during the stay. One room we stayed in had an odd set up for the sink. No sink in the bathroom only one at the kitchenette. So you were washing hands, brushing teeth and washing dishes in the same sink Did not suggest places to eat or things to do. We stayed for 3 nights. Most only stay 1-2nights in the area and I’d stay that would be appropriate

We used the Pele suite for two nights. It is a great low key and very close base for the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We very much appreciated the small annex to the room which had a microwave, small fridge, and table. Perfect for either COVID-caution meal prep (or introverts). Very convenient to also have the full kitchen right outside the door. Like many Hawaii properties, there is no central heat, but the wall heater and heated mattress pad (dual control) made the room very comfortable. The King bed was very comfortable. (Didn't use the queen bed). Very clean, neat, and welcoming. Quiet location. Fast WIFI. and yay! electric kettles! Limited tea selection, but we brought our own. We missed one breakfast while we were in the park, but the second one had a variety of options and was above average, with a papaya and banana boat, mac pancakes, pork sausage, boiled eggs, yoghurt, juice, coffee. If you are GF or Vegan, you might need to supplement it. There is enough room to stay 6 feet apart from other guests if you are COVID cautious. We also appreciated the in-room coat rack with numerous hooks, as the ~122 inches a year of rainfall guarantees wet gear that needs to dry out. Consider adding covered lockable bike rack or storage? And we couldn't tell if there is a dryer accessible to guests. (see wet gear note above).

Il Bed & Breakfast è immerso nella natura ed è curatissimo, si percepisce chiaramente che i proprietari danno il massimo per accogliere al meglio i loro ospiti: la nostra stanza era enorme e dotata addirittura di due bagni, accessoriata di tutto (cucinetta, 1000 varianti di saponi, stufette).
