Stayed for 4 nights in deluxe double. Room and bathroom a good size. Comfy super king bed. Plenty of plug sockets and storage space. Tea making facilities and safe in room. Fantastic shower. Iron and ironing board in room. Lots of dining space in the hotel. Food was superb. Full English was excellent. Had evening meal a couple of nights and the food was very good. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, cheerful and helpful. Helmsley is a beautiful town too so great location. Hotel car park is small though but our stay was out of season so ok. Broadband was a bit hit and miss. If revisiting the area would certainly stay there. Had a lovely time. Big thank you to The Black Swan.

Everythng good- great staff, but internet needs attention. im into IT but it dudnt always work, even though it said a connection was made ! it needs checking as a 'user'

1st breakfast rushed but not usual quality. Bacon was leathery and sausage cold. 2nd morning ok but evening meal for my wife was not great. Belly pork not well rendered down. Meal wasn’t charged for, without question. Staff very friendly.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Black Swan. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was pleasant and adequate for a short stay. Also, the breakfast very was good. I think that I might have already left a review about the fact that the stairs up to our room no. 58 are not very easy particularly on the second flight where the handrail is fixed to the wall so one can't grip it. Apart from that it was perfect.

Stay all right. Too much self service for my liking and not nearly enough explanations on how exactly to serve yourself both at dinner and breakfast.

Wonderful building, great food, very comfortable stay, perfect location and friendly staff.

Second time staying here. Nice option right on the Square. The pub, food, beer garden especially all nice. Rooms good, but vary a bit. No complaints.

Enjoyed the style and location in the village. Stepping out into the market square just set the scene perfectly. Lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs to help you while away the day. We would of preferred not to spend our time with so many dogs tho.

Enjoyed our stay only down side being lots of stairs no lift in this beautiful old building. Parking can be a challenge not many spaces and on a first come first served basis. We were lucky enough to have a blue badge so could park out front free.
