They have no staff on site, everything is done on line and none of it worked. Also, the TV got only around 10 channels including a guide channel displaying all the channels that were not available. The room was a bit primitive and there was an electric fan on the floor plugged in and running for some reason. I would avoid this place.

Location was good, and room clean. Many maintenance and technical issues, though, largely due to limited on-site staff and being a remote, contactless facility. All communications through text message or phone. Issues: (1) Screen on sliding door to patio was missing and couldn't be replaced because of no maintenance staff handy. (2) No handy instructions on how to use TV, and then finally saw that had to create an account on an app and coordinate with my computer to get TV service -- totally unacceptable just to watch TV! So, I didn't do it. (3) Access to the internet was difficult/awkward to get and, even then, connection was inconsistent and often required repeated logins. (4) The pull rod broke off the curtain when I tried to close it. The housekeeping lady tried to fix it with her own tools from her car, but not a proper tool to do so and no maintenance staff on site to do it. They did give a small monetary consideration of $40 to compensate for all this. Still, the room was way overpriced.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The pictures and location make this appear as a special boutique hotel but the truth is that it is worse than Motel 6. First, and foremost, you should understand that this is a contactless hotel i.e. no staff work at this hotel. You receive your room key via text message and thats it. When we arrived we were greeted by a bear and a 120 degree room. There is no air conditioning in this hotel. They did include a fan that was in the room but the fan was so noisy that it felt as if you were in the middle of construction. Suggestion: spend $20 on a desk fan from China instead of an industrial fan. Plus, when its hot out side it might be nice to put some water in the room. The sad thing is I paid over $300 for one night at this Motel 5 of a hotel. Give me my money back you thieves.

My experience with Firelight Lodge started with a series of texts from their staff, being as that I was on the road, I wasn't able to review or respond. I later received a phone call from them asking me to utilize contactless check in services. I told them that it was inconvenient and that I would just check in the normal way once I was onsite. The person informed me that wouldn't be an option. If you can't provide value by being flexible with ones needs, you don't deserve my business. You are providing a service with no value. Additionally, the same thing happened when it was time to check out. I received a text stating that I would be charged additional money if not out by 10am (a penalty) So you basically are paying for a nights stay with only 18 hours of usage. I have never felt so nickle and dimed anywhere else. This place has some good potential but unfortunately they don't seem to care about the consumers needs.

Check in & check out are both by self service via text messaging. There's no front desk, no employee to assist. Other than a fireplaces without a fan/blower, there was no heat in the room. The bed was HARD! Also, there was a note in the bathroom saying to leave the window open when showering which would've been ok except that people can see in. Ok for one night.

The TV had only 10 channels. There was no staff on site to address issues. It was noisy from the guests above our room. The parking lot was too small. We booked a room with two queen beds and ended up with a single queen. We had to bring an air mattress.

Comfortable and clean stay. Staff is very responsive to texts. Parking is a bit tight for a larger vehicle but so is everywhere in Tahoe it seems. Walked to a few places to eat and a small beach (water is high now) across the street. Enjoyed our stay very much

My hotel room wasn’t sufficiently cleaned before my checkin - one of the towels was stained, and there was what appeared to be blood stains on one of the pillows. To make matters worse, I was charged a $5 incidental fee for the stained towel upon my checkout even though it had been in that damaged state before I arrived.

We stayed at the property on Memorial Day weekend. That being said, we expected rowdy behavior or noise and we were wrong. The property was super quiet, clean, and we loved it. It was across the street from the beach, the view is breathtaking and we will definitely return.
