凱普斯酒店(Hotel Capstone)

If you enjoy air-conditioning, don't stay here. This is the second time I've stayed at this property (I decided to give them one more chance because of the location), and it was hell-ishly hot both times. The air was turned all the way down to 50 degrees in our room, and it could not have been cooler than 80 degrees all night long. It was a solid 10-15 degrees difference outside in the hallway. Miserable experience. It was not user error either time- we know how to turn the air on and off. Please, for the love, upgrade your air conditioning units!!!!

I booked this stay for a colleague. I'm not sure if it was that the room was great or that she just enjoyed a few nights away from the office, but she was very pleased with her accommodations at Capstone. The convenience of being right next to the Bryant Conference Center and not having to fight for student parking is a huge plus!

The property location is great for game day. However the room was dirty, bathroom was gross, bed had hair on it, carpet was filthy. Not allowed to check in prior to ten pm, check out still at 11am. All for $1200. Ridiculous.

Property is well maintained, however rooms are small, a bit dated and bathrooms are no frills and also very small. Beds were comfy, and shower pressure was good. It got the job done. Satisfied!

Kudos to Dana in Maintenance! She was accommodating, professional, and friendly. She came through with a solution to my problem that surpassed any expectation I could have imagined.

Great place to stay when you visit the University of Alabama. Super convenient and very reasonably priced. Roll Tide!

GPS has a little trouble finding the location, but it was nice when we got here. Staff has been really friendly and the beds are comfortable.

I found the following to be pros for Hotel Capstone: great location (directly on campus), onsite restaurant & bar, attentive service, small UA gift shop, clean rooms & public areas. If these are important to you, then you'll enjoy this hotel. I found the following cons however, for what is billed as a premium hotel: Room was average size, room furnishings were older, mattress had a pronounced dip in the middle with noisy springs and badly in need of replacement, small pillows, small bathroom by today's standards, dimly lit room entrance, somewhat noisy air handler, and most of all, there was not a single item hanging on the wall that let you know you were at the University of Alabama. I understand there are renovations pending (not sure when), but in general, unless location and an onsite restaurant are most important to you, you probably would be more satisfied in booking some of the newer hotels in Tuscaloosa. I'll still give it a four star rating but with the other choices in the area, I probably won't return until it's renovated.
