Having turned up at 12.15 there were no tables and being 3 elderly ladies we misread the times for the meals so as there were no tables available we were about to leave and the manager appeared and suddenly found us a table for 3. We were extremely grateful as it was a miserable day, and The Farmers looked like the only place that was open. I'm afraid we all ordered the small fish and chips, and although the manager tried to entice us with dessert, we ended up with just coffee. I saw the desserts on the next table, and they looked very substantial. Probably one between the 3 of us would have been enough. Anyway, I would like to thank the manager for finding a table for 3 elderly ladies on a cold, wet Sunday lunchtime. The food was nice too!

Just been in The Farmers for a works do and we had to wait one hour for food, had to go to the bar for our own drinks because heaven forbid that the actual waitress should serve us!!! We finally received our food without potatoes or chips and when we complained the waitress was so rude absolutely, she actually said to us that she expected a complaint (if so sort it out before its a complaint) no customer service about her at all!! Maybe get a different job love!!

Had a lovely night with a couple of work colleagues. The atmosphere was great and the christmas decor looked fabulous. Service was spot on and I can highly recommend the prawns in garlic and chilli (best sauce ever!!) And, warm goats cheese salad.Couldn't fault any of it for any of us!!

We stayed in the cottages that the farmers have available, the accommodation is great, comfortable, clean and perfectly located for a stay in Ulverston. One negative regarding my booking, I booked 4 cottages for myself and my group of friends more than 3 months prior to my stay-using *********** and with no explanation other than “it is no longer available” given, 3 weeks before my arrival one of the cottages was cancelled by the Farmers. Luckily I was able to find another room elsewhere at different accommodation otherwise my friends would not have been able to attend at all !! then to add to this a week later the other 3 rooms were cancelled!! upon speaking to the farmers I was told that this was an error by *********** and they should have just cancelled the one room and I could book the rooms direct with them, but all of a sudden 2 rooms price had increased by £50 and the other by £70, I can’t help but feel this has been done with it being Bank Holiday Weekend and demand being high just to make money out of us for the rooms that we booked and this somewhat tarnished my view of the Farmers

As usual, the staff behind the bar were friendly and helpful. We sat outside with our dogs, warmed by the heater under the canopy. I had fish and chips and my hubby had the spicy pizza. The food was FIRST class! Thin, crispy pizza base with lots of toppings and my fish and chips were the BEST I’ve had in ages! Hot chips, light, crispy fish batter with a large chunky piece of fish. Highly recommended.

Just finished an amazing Sunday lunch. Everything was just as I like it; with extra gravy too. Veg was properly cooked, Yorkshire pudding to die for. Portion size very good too. Loved it and would definitely visit again. The atmosphere was good and staff very efficient and pleasant.
