Worst hotel I have stayed in in many a year. Dreadful music in played very late and all the local ****** hanging around threateningly .

One night stopover Staying for one night meant I wasn't looking for 5 star,The Sun is in the heart of the town,ideal for my needs. As expected its an old building with an old feel. Free parking was good,checking in at the bar wasn't a problem but some people might not like it. My room was on the top floor to mitigate noise from a very busy and noisy bar ,again it didn't bother me but some would be pretty upset I imagine. Food was good especially the breakfast,usually I get buffet style but this was fresh and excellent. Staff were attentive and came to check all was OK and any needs. Bargain price but I was aware of noise etc so have no complaints. All in all ,old,worn but huge bed,clean and I would stay again.

Noisy, dirty, terrible bed, shower only just works, TV so small you need binoculars and breakfast only served after 9pm.

Stayed for one night. We were warned and prepared for noise as they play live music until the early hours. However we were woken up early morning by strange scratching noises coming from overhead (top floor room). When I contacted the hotel they told me these were birds on the roof - I'm not so sure as it seemed to be coming from the loft space. We paid for a 'deluxe' room and there was lots of damp issues on the walls and ceilings. Generally felt dingy. Breakfast was tasty. Parking, whilst they warn is limited, was impossible as most of the car park is taken up with piles of garden furniture and a large gazebo. Disappointed given the price.

Nice old pub in town . The food was excellent. All I ate was great. The two fellows,Calum and omg forgot the assistant or night managers name . Made my stay. I liked my bed facing the street Less noise . I would come back for sure. The , waiter from USA , only 9 from home had a British accent

The Sun Inn is in the centre of Ulverston with limited parking available, but they are honest and open about this and I didn't struggle to park as it was early in the week. The hotel is old and dated, but has hot water and clean bedding. Given I wasn't in the room for long periods this was fine, but might not be if you want to spend time indoors. Don't be expecting anything out of the ordinary, it is ordinary but served the purpose of shower, bed and sleep. Although if you're a light sleeper the seagulls might give you an early morning call.
