烏姆蘭加小屋(Umhlanga Cabanas)

Great place, well located, friendly staff and everything is easily available and accessible 🙃

The resort has good facilities although there is no longer access to the nature reserve. The rooms are dated. Bath tubs seem to be from the 1990s. Furthermore, there are several rules and restriction’s about use of facilities, visitors and room allocation which are subject to management’s discretion. Some rules are enforced by smooth talking security guards who can ‘help you avoid a hefty fine’ for a small service fee. I understand the importance of rules in running a large resort however leaving their enforcement to the discretion of ****** is even more dangerous.

The most friendliest, entertaining staff I have ever encountered! Truly an amazing experience. We felt welcome and pampered every day. It felt like being at home with a five star experience 🥰 The staff and management go out of their way to get to know each one of their guests. Thank you and can't wait for next year ❤️

Wonderful resort and kids facilities are fantastic, situated in a great area close to shops and restaurants. Close to the beach at about 200m. I particularly enjoyed the Deck in the evening just as the kids went to bed ;-)

Run down building, my view on the balcony is like one of the back yard, looks very industrial. Passages look like some flat in downtown Johannesburg. When walking to pool area, you walk past dark passages with cleaning equipment put on display for all to see.  I went to the manager in an attempt to change rooms, he told me that unit allocations are done at head office, and that cash paying clients get the bottom floor rooms. I find this appalling. If cash paying customers are given substandard rooms not out of choice, then this should have been communicated at the very beginning.

Cabanas meaning in the English language : "a hut, cabin, or shelter at a beach or swimming pool" And it was even worse than the name Umhlanga Cabanas. We looked forward to holiday in Umhlanga! And it's totally ruined by Umhlanga Cabanas. Not properly communicating to as at booking stage. We traveled 700km in peak traffic on Friday and was utterly disappointed by every single thing in this unit, staff, NOISY GUESTS and the resort as a whole. First of all, the pictures on the web are totally not a true reflection of the overall state of your establishment. There is only one washing machine and tumble dryer for 80 units + or 300 people!! This is unacceptable! Unhygienic ! Nobody communicated to us from the start when we made the booking that we are not going TO BE allowed to smoke on the balcony! AND MUST WALK 4 FLOORS DOWN FOR EVERY CIGARETTE! OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE BOOKED ELSEWHERE! We were on the 4th floor, and every time I needed to smoke, I had to walk 4 floors down ! There is no close by lift access! I had walked up 20 times down the stairs to smoke! Therefore we checked out on the first morning of the stay. WE RATHER LEFT THE It is a horrible situation, and you treat guests like it's a concentration camp ! There is also NO COVERED PARKING FOR ALL THE GUESTS! Other guests partied right through the night and shouted and listened to hard music.I informed the security guy and he pretended that he heard nothing the previous evening and morning at 03.00 am.Waited for a rude and aggressive manager to arrive until 08.00am and he just ignored the situation!- Sheldon is his name or something And came up with a lot of excuses. The bath was ruined and damaged inside. No easy access to restaurants and shopping at all! There is no parking available anywhere at day or night and beach access is also to far. Well done for ruining my holiday!!

We’ve stayed in many places and have never had such bad experience. Should have known upon arrival as we had to sign 2 disclaimers regarding not noise. Needless to say, the noise from guest partying in the pool at 10pm - shouting and poor behaviour fuelled by alcohol is the reason for the disclaimer . Hotel staff were called and could not manage the groups. After hours of hoping it would stop we left the hotel and went find other accommodation. To add further insult - At this point reception has shut and we could not check out. Returned the key the following day and raising issues again the response was yes many guesses complained?!!!!! Do not stay here at any cost - as it’s also not the cheapest we did not only loose a day off our holiday but also money paid. Not happy.

I was disappointed that it was not the cabana beach hotel. Advertisement is misleading. Other than that, place is clean comfortable, excellent service. Would have been nice to have a restaurant on site, and it’s a bit of a walk to go to the beach. Limited sea views as well from apartment. Lovely activities for children, resort is pleasant, clean, quality of bedding and utilities in suite are excellent. Lovely spacious apartment

Our stay was only an overnight stay from our trip overseas. We arrived late evening and left early the next morning, and hence being tired we could not make a good judgment. However, the unite was clean, the facilities were good, and we had a comfortable night's sleep. Our book in was easy and the staff were helpful and very friendly, and the parking facilities were good..
