I booked a vacation for my family. It was a great time for them. They loved everything, the room, the interior, the service from the staff, the facilities, it was more than a great experience. Breakers Resort, thank you for hosting my family!

​If you are looking for the perfect balance of family fun and relaxation in Umhlanga, Breakers Resort is a fantastic choice. We recently stayed in a 4-bedroom sea view unit on a high floor, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. ​What Stood Out: ​The Vibe: Unlike many of the neighboring resorts that can feel frantic and overcrowded, Breakers felt wonderfully peaceful and well-managed. ​The Unit: Our apartment was newly renovated, exceptionally clean, and neat. The aesthetic was fresh, featuring crisp linens and a layout that felt spacious enough for the whole family. ​The Views: Being on a high floor, the sea views were breathtaking—perfect for morning coffee or watching the waves. ​Amenities: The resort is a paradise for kids (and parents). The hot water pools were a massive hit, and the water slides kept the children entertained for hours. ​Convenience: The unit is full self-catering, which is great for families, but they also provide the little essentials like beach towels, saving us a lot of luggage space. ​Why We’d Return: ​It is rare to find a resort that is so family-oriented while still maintaining a quiet, upscale atmosphere. Everything felt high-quality, from the maintenance of the grounds to the comfort of the beds.

Very well maintained resort. Clean, neat unit, well serviced, clean fresh linen and towels. Great amenities, beautiful pools and gardens, Stone throw to the beach walk. Friendly staff, good food at the restaurant. Great resort. Very well maintained.

We would just like to thank you for ALL your hospitality over the past week. Everyone was very helpful and friendly from check in to check out. The rooms were clean, neat and very comfortable. Would stay there again. It was a beautiful week. The hosts were wonderful and kind, the food was amazing and most importantly the service from the waiters was excellent, exceptional and exquisite. I had the wonderful experience of staying here force week with my partner and in-laws. I cannot recommend the Breakers resort enough! The staff are efficient and friendly and our room was spacious and well-equipped with all that we needed. It is a safe resort for children to wander and explore and the restaurant's food is delicious. There is also an inhouse beauty spa and hair salon. Spacious grounds and well-maintained swimming pools for both adults and children. I loved staying here!

I’ve been a loyal guest of the Breakers Resort since childhood, but my recent stay in Room 229 was nothing short of appalling. This once-beloved destination has plummeted to rock bottom, offering an experience that was shockingly subpar and downright intolerable. From the moment we entered, the room reeked of stale, soiled odour. The air conditioning was non-functional, leaving us sweltering in the heat. Damaged tiles marred the floors, and filth greeted us at every turn. The bathroom was a disaster, with swollen walls, peeling paint, and a broken mirror. The shower lacked a proper soap holder, while the kitchen was a cockroach-infested health hazard with filthy, mismatched dishes and a bin missing its lid. The furniture was stained and filthy, the bedding torn and mismatched, and the TV remote broken. Storage options were non-existent, with cupboards either sealed or unusable. Forced to eat out due to the unit’s unsanitary conditions, we incurred unplanned expenses, only adding insult to injury. To top it all, the resort staff were unsympathetic and unhelpful, passing the buck to an unnamed “agent” with whom I had no prior dealings. Promises to resolve issues were broken, leaving us to endure sleepless, mosquito-ridden nights and escalating frustration. This stay not only ruined our holiday but also left us physically unwell. Breakers Resort failed on every front—hygiene, comfort, and customer service. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to steer clear. If you value your time, money, and health, look elsewhere. I demand full reimbursement for my stay and compensation for the additional meal costs forced upon us by this travesty of a vacation.

Unit 318 Breakers September 2023 checked in and found the apartment to be stuffy with an unbearable odor. She requested the cleaning staff to assist with ventilating the apartment. Shortly thereafter, the children presented allergy(sinus symptom could not inhabit the apartment for the period it was booked for and vacated the same day.i requested a refund but was refused even though supplier couldn't deliver, I have tried multiple attempts in contacting supplier with no success, eventually sent message stating non refundable don't contact them Maintenance lady stated to use facilities at breakers so that we at least can enjoy some of the holiday even though the damp smell would still be there, she offered to put fans on an air the apartment , but obviously you cant open the windows due to monkeys. The cleaning lady also came through and stated that guests have complained in the past. I see bad reviews about 318, looks like lots of people are unhappy but nothing can be done, imagine loosing 11000 rands in one go hard earned money😭

This is my second experience at Breakers and each time it gets even better! The friendliness and efficiency of the staff was consistently great. The resort has an excellent Spa and Hair Salon as well as a good restaurant, lovely pools for adults and children, and daily activities. The scenery is magnificent and it has a beautiful beach and forest walkway. I highly recommend Breakers Resort for everyone, and look forward to my next trip!

We stayed in a studio unit and opened to balcony. Lovely kitchenette has build in oven, stovetop, microwave oven, fridge freezer. Dining table, sleep couch for kids. Hairsalon, spa, gym, warm and cold swimming pools, gate leading to beach

Overall stay at Breakers Positive Staff: Friendly staff at checking and the porters assistance was really great. Thanks Emm for your assistance and great customer service. Location of the resort: The resort is central and one has quick access to the malls, restaurants and highway. View Stunning view and good seenary Negative review: The blanks in room 802 had bed bugs. This was reported to the housekeeping manager. They manage to change the linen but it’s unacceptable for a 4 star hotel Price The cost of the stay was not worth the value I paid. The prices vary on a daily basis but I paid a flat rate of R3396.60 for weekday and weekend stay. I stayed 4 days / 5 nights. Cleanliness of the apartment Bathrooms were still dirty at check in. One can see they redo the walls and tiles however the peel paint was still on the floor throughout my stay. Please go check it might still be behind the bathroom door. Shop No shop at the premises to buy swim goodies for kids. Entertainment for kids: It is limited, I tried accessing the games area and it was locked through my stay. There is only one pool table at the pool area. Swipe facilities for put put is not available all is cash. My proposal is to charge the fees to the room and bill the guest at checkout. Braai area Braai-ing is not allowed Friday’s and Saturday’s, not on, as South Africans we prefer to braai over these days and on certainly on holiday. Beach access Breaker’s resort has no stair case to the Beach, one has to walk right down to bronze beach to have access and enjoy. Swimming No swimming between 7-9am and pools closes at 10pm. Ekko time shares In terms of the POPI act one need to consent for personal information to be shared with a 3rd party. I received a call from a lady by the name of Nadia from Ekko leisure requesting me to go down reception. At arrival she has a full presentation and selling time shares. She had a list of all guest and was exposed to all our personal information. This is not on. Please review the POPI act this is a breach, and kindly provide me with confirmation that the information was collected and destroyed in terms of tbe cloud governance destruction policy.

The complex requires a substantial investment to upgrade. A lot of the external amenities have been allowed to down grade over time and haven't been replaced. The bar and snack facility is fine and the staff great. The units themselves are good. The rooms are serviced well, despite there being the ever present pest of flies. This is my third visit. I wont be returning until something is done.

The wheelchair accessibility at the resort was very good. There is a generous ramp from the undercover parking garage to the reception floor. There are three lifts that service all the floors (big enough for a wheelchair and perhaps two other people). Generators keep the lifts in working order during load shedding. The outside passages (from the lifts to the units) are wide enough. All the units are classified as wheelchair friendly and in essence they are. The only problem is that the bathrooms can only be classed as tiny, with no chance of a wheelchair fitting through the door. On the 5th and 9th floors, there is a disabled bathroom outside in the passage, located between units 1 and 2 on those floors, that provide spacious facilities and a shower with a built-in shower chair. The lounge and outside space are accessible, with a disabled bathroom located on Floor 0 where the lounge/restaurant/spa/hairdresser are. The pathway outside to the beach and promenade is a little steep but quite do-able in a wheelchair. Likewise with the wooden pathway to the Hawaan forest, although there are some steep areas that require a push.

This is just a relaxing an beautiful place to spend a holiday. The rooms are clean, neat. There is wifi available. This is a place where family, kids of any age can relax an unwind. I enjoyed the facilities, miniature golf, volleyball, the slides at the pool is so awesome. There is a game room for the kids to enjoy. There is never a dull moment. Easy access to the beach. Would recommend this place if anyone looking to book a holiday.
