Nuestra estancia de 3: noches ha sido perfecta. La habitación muy agradable con muebles muy nuevos, claritos, cama muy confortable y un cuarto de baño estupendo. En la habitación hay todo lo necesario, incluso secador de pelo, cepillos de dientes, gorros, bolsa para la playa y toallas de playa. La ubicación justo a pocos pasos de la playa es perfecta y alrededor hay todo tipo de restaurantes y tiendas para disfrutar de la estancia.

I stayed at The Waves on Unawatuna beach for 15 nights and had an excellent stay. The staff are all welcoming and friendly, attentive but without being overly intrusive. The room was large, with air con and lots of light, thick curtains for nighttime, a large bed with clean and very comfortable bedding, sofa, large TV and a fridge. A spacious bathroom with an amazing shower. A balcony looking out over the beach. Bottled water, bathroom towels, soaps/shampoo and even a beach bag with towels and hats. Truly stunning to wake up in such comfort to the sunrise and beach every morning. An excellent one stop place to stay. The room was excellent and access to the beach was easy. The staff were lovely. The shop next door was really useful for holiday essentials. And you’re within minutes walk of all the action or a peaceful spot on the beach.

Hot Rock restaurant is perfectly situated on the beach just opposite The Waves and has a wide range of drinks and cuisines. Offers indoor seating, outside seating secluded by trees with some shade, beach huts, beach front loungers, seating and tables. It’s a relaxed and easy place to spend time, either getting roasted in the sunshine and having a dip in the sea or having a few drinks with friends and family or having a quiet meal – either romantically or by yourself. An exceptional space for whatever mood you’re in. The Hot Rock menu ranges from fresh and locally caught whole fish, lobster and crab (seasonal), stunning Sri Lankan curries, rice and noodle dishes, fresh and crunchy salads or a “comfort” selection of burger, chips and pizzas. Everything was fresh and tasty… and I really did try everything! The set breakfast is excellent value for money, good quality and a great way to start the day with a fresh fruit selection, fresh juice, eggs, sausages and toast and either a pot of tea or coffee… All for about £4.50 (at the time of writing). The set Sri Lankan curry, again, is excellent value for money. Fantastic quality and filling for lunch or dinner. It’s also a great way to experience a selection of traditional Sri Lankan curries. It’s probably enough for 2 people and a bargain at around £7.50 (at the time of writing). Great drinks menu with some delicious cocktails, mocktails, ice cold beers and a decent wine selection. Best larger by far is the Sri Lankan made Lion larger. A small note for the wine lovers… Due to import costs, wine anywhere in Sri Lanka does appear at first to be expensive but it’s no more than a bottle of decent wine in a London restaurant. (£18 at the time of writing) And if you get chance, do try the local Sri Lankan wine…. The white wine is like a fruity and full Chardonay, the red wine is similar to Malbec but with the flavour turned up. Local wines usually cost a fair bit less than imported wines. …and you have to try the home-made ice cream! Made from yogurt and cream right in front of you with your selection of ingredients from chocolates, sweets, nuts and coconut. Delicious and amazing to watch it being made. Hot Rock also has a selection of Shisha / Hookah flavours to try which despite not being a smoker I found really nice and relaxing. An excellent one stop place to stay. The room was excellent. Great place with fantastic views. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Very clean, modern and the bed is very comfortable. Great shower and bathroom. Large tv, tea coffee facilities. Towels hair dryer etc, everything you need. We are a hotel owners in the uk and would highly recommend this place.

We had a fabulous stay here. The room was beautiful (updated from the pictures here on Trip Advisor) great air conditioning, beautifully clean with a really good shower. The staff are lovely- nothing is too much trouble, they make you feel like you’re in a 5 star resort. Just across the road from the beach - we would definitely stay here again, it was wonderful, thank you!

We stayed there for 2 nights . It was a super nice experience! Very new, modern and clean room. Nicely furnished! Great view from the balcony . The service was like in a 5 star hotel, they were constantly pampering us. Almost a little too much..😃 Also the breakfast they serve was very delicious . The place is a very nice base to explore the city and it’s surrounding.
