這間飯店位置絕佳，環境優美，維護得很好，房間寬敞，佈置典雅。早餐室兼作餐廳和酒吧，保留了20世紀20年代的風格，非常漂亮。然而，早餐服務卻糟糕透頂。在我們入住的四天裡，每天都要等半個多小時才能喝到一杯咖啡和一杯水。有時甚至什麼都沒得到——儘管我們多次詢問。不過，早餐本身味道很不錯，很美味。

Let’s begin with the notion that hospitality folks should enjoy being hospitable. The good folks at Grand Hotel Centenari embody this notion extremely well. I’ve been blessed with many outstanding stays at over 3,000 nights in hotels around the world. Some of the best staff have been at low-end chains for road warriors where the people made all the difference in being away from home. And some five-star hotels have fallen way short with an attitude that mirrors some of the worst of some of their “entitled” guests. The staff at Centenari exemplifies the best of the best, the warmest of the warmest, an atmosphere of care that makes you feel welcomed from the front door and beyond. I might add, a reflection of the city of Valencia as a friendly, clean, safe, beautiful destination. The staff mirrors this city in all that is good. Yes, they do. My room 203 had a wonderful view of the square and was perfectly appointed and comfortable. The shower was a technological delight. I always enjoy bath towels that wrap and envelope you as they do at the Centenari (it’s the little things). The architecture of the lobby, hallways, and main dining room is exactly as I hoped; a step back in time to delight and charm. The rooftop view is spectacular. But again, back to the people. A special thank you to Luis at the front desk and Emma in the dining room, and housekeeping on the second floor. The dining room, by the way, offers a very tasty menu all day long. Definitely enjoy a meal or two at Soul. Especially the complimentary breakfast if your membership allows. València has become one of my favorite cities, and the Centenari among my favorite hotels in the world. Now off to Barcelona to see if they can come close to the good folks at the Grand Hotel Centenari.

Ich habe drei wunderbare Tage im Grand Hotel Centenari, Valencia, Autograph Collection verbracht und kann meinen Aufenthalt nur wärmstens empfehlen. Das Hotel besticht durch seine traumhafte Lage direkt an der Plaza del Ayuntamiento im Herzen von Valencia, ideal für Sightseeing, Shopping und kulinarische Erlebnisse in der Altstadt. Beim Check-in erhielt ich ein Upgrade auf ein Premier-Zimmer mit Blick auf das Rathaus. Die Zimmer sind sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, elegant und gepflegt, und die Sauberkeit war durchgehend hervorragend. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt für mich waren die etwas zu harten Kissen, die den Schlafkomfort minimal beeinflusst haben. Das Frühstück à la carte im hoteleigenen Restaurant war ein echtes Highlight. Frisch, köstlich und mit viel Liebe zum Detail serviert. Gerade wer Wert auf qualitativ hochwertige Frühstücksoptionen legt, wird hier nicht enttäuscht sein. Das Restaurant und die Bar im Lobby-Bereich laden zum Verweilen ein. Die Bar bietet erstklassige Drinks in stilvoller Atmosphäre, und sowohl dort als auch im Restaurant war der Service sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend.  Fazit: Ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt in einem zentral gelegenen, eleganten Hotel mit hervorragendem Service, grossartigem Frühstück und sehr komfortablen Zimmern. Kleinere Abzüge gibt es nur für die Kissen, sonst aber absolut empfehlenswert!
