Residencia Livramento

Located 10-15 minutes walk from the town centre and port, and near some attractive coastal scenery, the Residencia is a good value option for those needing a base in Velas from which to explore the island. Although we arrived well before check-in time, we were given a friendly welcome which typified the service throughout our stay. Our interior downstairs room was clean, simply but adequately furnished, relying on a fan rather than air-con. Buffet breakfast, taken upstairs, provided a reasonable range of fresh, cold items. There's plentiful space for street parking. Next door the understated Cafe Livramento, which is not part of the Residencia, provides home-cooked specials for two or more people, which are listed on a chalkboard and ordered a day in advance. Portions are generous and the cooking high quality!
